CVD? $? over 1 year No rating DivX XviD Comments: When I entered TedddY selection. The player composit vido went bad. It would not lock and was in black and white. I think it probably got converted to PAL (which is fine if that is what you want.). To keep the NTSC setting, we need to change one bit, as follows: VCD/SVCD for the marantz dv 4200 Use your remote control for entering the codes Turn your Player on Pause 1472 55 ENTER CURSOR UP 53 ENTER CURSOR UP 03 ENTER CURSOR UP 5 < this changes the entry from DE to 5E PROGRAM < The MSB puts it into PAL mode 5 < Program is like shift and allows you ENTER < to enter HEX A-F CURSOR UP 12 ENTER CURSOR UP 55 ENTER CURSOR UP 10 ENTER CURSOR UP 00 ENTER TURN PLAYER OFF TURN PLAYER ON Now your player can play vcd and svcd.

CVD? $? over 1 year 5 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Plays everything fine that I have come across until I tried a burnt Verbatim DVD+R DL and it wouldn't have a piece of it. Had no idea what to do. I tested the same dvd in a pioneer dvd player we have and the same copied dvd worked no problems at all. Bit annoying but meh whadda ya do?

One con against this player is that when playing DVD's is sometimes leaves are grey line below the 16:9 picture. CVD? $50 N/A 4 of 10 Comments: Great sound and picture, although it won't play "copy controlled" music CD's awailable in stores. Marantz seem to ignore the problem and all my efforts to contact them! Lousy coustomer relations. Beware!

CVD? $300 N/A 5 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD MP3 long filename Comments: somewhat particular with copy protected CDs. mp3 is a nightmare (short names in menu, unordered). great cd sound and good tv picture. can play vcd and still picture vcd2.0 after the vcd hack as describes in this forum. refuses to play svcd at all. the header trick produced a picture but no sound.

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: Works fine with DVD+R/RW. All tested so far have been authored with SpruceUp (if needed), burned with Nero. Excellent Picture.

High resolution VCD (720x480pix, NTSC) work fine, but max bitrate is 1150kbps. MPEG2 on VCD format (not a SVCD) worked.
