So far has played everything I've thrown at it. Can't fast forward on SVCD's very well tho'. Used HP 4x DVD+RW and Imation 16xDVD+R, various no-name DVD-R and CDR.
Drive mechanism is compatible with PC DVD-Rom's, and with a little persuasion looks like an upgrade is feasible if drive carefully aligned, so future upgrades look possible. Have tried with an A-Open DVD/CDRW drive and it works! Will try and get a matsushita DVD-Rom (as these play DVD-RAM disks) and report back. |

has had the Logix 3000 for a couple of years now. recently bought the Philips DVDR-70 recorder. My Logix plays the R+ without problems, but unable to read the RW+ (even had to open the case to get the disk out!!)
the disk brand was Arita - has anybody tried other brands, as can see some users have reported their Logix 3000 can play RW+ DVD's.. |

Had this player for about 2 years.
Just got a Pioneer 105 writer and it plays DVD-R fine, even when burned at 4X.
Took a few seconds to recognise a DVD-RW disc, but then played it with no probs.
It's an early version, original firmware, Region Free and Macrovision disabled through secret menu. |

I bought the Logix DVD 3000 a year ago with 20 FREE dvd's which only 2 of them were any good films (mask & seven).
The quality of picture is excellent and sound is good and I have been happy with it all this time.
BUT
I recently bought a DVD-R writer (pioneer 104) and have backed up some DVD's. At first I thought some played and some didnt, however the ones that didnt would then play next time and vice versa, after 2 months trying to sort out what the problem is I have discovered that it's a heat issue.
All discs after a while get very very hot and the film starts pixelating and sticking on DVD-r films.
Play them on a cool player and they are great but when it heats up forget it.
If you put lables on which I do it attracts the heat more but I like lables on my DVD's.
All in all a brill player unless you want to start making your own dvd's, I am now either gonna have to swap my player (any suggestions anyone?) or move to the North Pole.

Excellent Player. Works with everything apart from DVD+RW's - which is a shame. Would have given it a 10 if it played these.
Overall, it's a cheap player with a lot of 'kick'.
Go 'snap one up' now.
PEACE OUT. |

| I have had this player for a year now and its excellent. Written DVD-R with Pioneer 103,104 and 105 drives with no problem includeing VCD & SVCD on DVD-R. I did notice it doesnt seem to like Traxdata CDR disks - it would skip when in fast forward, but cheap unbranded cdr worked fine! |

I bought the Logix DVD3000 player nearly three years ago from jungle.com for £160. A very solid and reliable player. It plays VCD, SVCD, MP3 and DVD Video of course, very well, good picture and sound. Unfortunately it didn't play DVD-R Even though the book says it should. Never tried DVD-RW. I cured this by going for the DVD+RW format which it played no problem.
Would be a ten but for the DVD-R problem.
Have also owned Logix DVD3300 player. Cheap and nasty, plays all formats but none of them particularly well. Don't recommend.

| What I have is the logix 3300D older or newer than the 3000 I dont know, I have just bought this after try ing three others and ended up taking them back allthought they said it would play mp3/vcd and others. not true. This one however is superb plays anything first time I find that disc brand on this machine does not matter it played anything I put in. an allround perfect machine from China. |

| Just like to add that I have used Sefy's TMPGEnc templates (SxVCD PAL enhanced)and managed to write 1hr 50mins of film onto a 99 minute CDR (using NERO 5.5 and LITEON CD Rewriter). The Logix DVD3000 plays them without hesitation. I use DVDx 1.7 to rip, AVI Wrapper to link and TMPGEnc 2.0 to encode, have good picture quality and no audio/video sync problems. Also plays the 90 min CDRs no problems. Not all standalones recognise these disks. Not yet tested 99 min with CDDA or MP3 but see no reason why this player should not accept them too. |

Great player.
Plays XSVCD to 5000kbps without a hitch which is near enough DVD for me. I use a 10x burner but have discovered that Princo 10x CDRWs nead to burned at 4x for smooth playback. Datasafe CDRWs work fine at 10x.
Files encoded with TMPGenc don't play back so well at a bitrate over 4000kbps but I capture straight to MPEG2 at 5000kbps then multiplex to SVCD with TMPGenc.
This gives great results and is far quicker (a half hour of MPEG2 takes my PC about 5 minutes to multiplex). |

Seems to work with everything you throw at it.
BUT DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH THE NEWER LOGIX 3300. I had one which had problems with VCD/SVCD and is silver and looks like a toy.

This player is cool it seems the company who made this clone player update firmware (programmed from a disc you can burn yourself). A very nice Frenchman maintains a site with all the information and flash on it
It gives a great mp3 system update (full names and programmable)
improves dvd playback and Now playes MINIDVD a must

| I bought the logix 3000 from Richer Sounds in order to play mini DVD format. Unfortunately my machine was too old upgrade to most recent firmware and so I cannot play mini DVD's. Only logix-3000's with firmware 1.64 or above can be upgraded. On the positive side the quality of picture and sound on playbakc of normal DVD's is excellent. Also it is very easy to disable macrovision (not on the newest machines) and to enable multiregion. |
