CVD? $? 120 days No rating Comments: When using CloneDVD(2) for example, if you're copying a disc without the menu and only copy the DTS track, sound will not play (tests fine elsewhere). Strange because there is an option to turn on/off digital out on/off for both dolby and dts in the menu.

MP3 320kbit/s WMA CVD? $50 N/A No rating JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename Comments: Sorry, I put a review on this great forum for this Koss KS3112 under the Koss KS3122 by mistake...the review that follows is for the KS3112. This baby plays almost everything I need it to play....does a great job of playing MP3's on DVD-r's without putting files in folders. Just set to random and away you go listening to upto 1000 songs on one DVD-r !! I have had great success in playing my backup movies which I burned to DVD-r using DVD Copyxpress....no problem playing at all. Perhaps it depends on the DVD-r media used or (I use the cheap Princo brand) This is a great little machine ..I have a Norcent DP300 (Golden Version) and I would rate the Koss KD3112 just as good (if not a little better)

MP3 WMA CVD? $80 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-RAM Comments: This is a fantastic player, after my APEX-1500 died, i picked this one up, well i have not been let down, this is a extremely capable player, it plays everything! I have tested all formats except CVD and XVCD as they are useless formats to me and most. It also plays SVCD's With dolby prologic 2.0, I've also tested my crappy princo DVD-R's and i have had only 1 of 12 skip on me,i reburned it on my Pioneer A06 and it and it played fine, so this is very encouraging considering my APEX 1500 couldn't play them without skipping/stopping.. The quality of the playback is exceptional too, very clear, the Menu system is very good looking as well, my only complaint (and i'm really splitting hairs here) is the menu doesn't have many settings and the remote has just the very basic of features, unfortunately i cannot find a way to "jump" to a point in the movie timeline, only fast forward to it.. and there is no screeensaver, overall not a big deal though really but the features would be nice to have, if it did, i would give it a 10/10, so i'll give it a 9/10

CVD? $50 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG MPEGISO Comments: This inexpensive player has played everything that I have (except for unauthored/raw MPEG files). I have played VCD burned on CD-RW with Roxio v5 and B's Recorder Gold v5. They have all played in this player - even discs that didn't work in my other players! I have played Xcopy Xpress v3.2.1 backup DVDs on kHypermedia 2.4x DVD+R and Maxell 2x DVD-R. The kHypermedia DVD+R work absolutely perfect. The Maxell DVD-R work very well, but they 'stutter' occasionally. The 'stutter' is a much bigger problem on my other players. I have played MP3s burned with Roxio v5 on TDK 48x CD-R and Optimum 48x CD-R. I use 128k and 192k bitrates. They have all worked without any problems. I have not yet tried VCDs on CD-R, or backup DVDs on DVD-RW and DVD+RW media. I will update this post or add another post when I try them. I would have rated this player a 10 if it would play unauthored/raw MPEG files.

CVD? $60 N/A 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename Comments: First one froze on DVD part way through but the second one seems fine. Saw the upgrade model at Costco Canada for Cdn$94 (with kareoke). MP3 and JPEG only show first 12 characters, but shows folders. Can select (program) tracks or select random play.
