I think it is a worthless player.

Ejecting and reloading solves the problem then - TDK Metallic UltraRefelx CDRs play perfect - Player freezes if bitrate drops below a certain limit - Plays several formats of SVCD (352x288 up to 720x576) - Error correction is BAD on DVD and CDR. If surface is only slightly scatched you can forget about it !

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: I tried DVD-R and DVD+R. After reading comments about DVD+R only plkaying for 1 hour I tried a DVD with 1 hour movie for 3 hours in a row without any problem. Iused Nashua DVD-R and Imation DVD+R for this test.

CVD? $400 N/A 8 of 10 DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename Comments: I posted before that this player was OK for DVD+R. However I must add a correction. The DVD+R plays well for 1 hour or so. When the player becomes 'normally' hot, the player just can't read the DVD+R anymore (complete freeze). This problem does not occur at all with DVD-R. I have tried different brands of DVD+R without any success.

CVD? $300 N/A 3 of 10 Comments: I bought this DVD player hoping it will play XSVCD, BUT was dissapointed. Used Pinnacle DC10+ to capture LD (karaoke). Encode avi to mpeg2 using TMPG - using the SVCD template that come with the program. CBR @2520 the player plays the mpeg file (with one stereo track) fine, but when mux to have two stereo tracks, the video and the audio jumps, far from smooth. Also encoding the audio @224kbs plays fine but anything above that and the audio starts to jump. Will keep experimenting with othe software and settings. If there's anyone who has made a XSVCD which plays smoothly on this player. PLEASE PLEASE show me how and what are your settings. Thanks in advance! Kevin

MP3 VBR 320kbit/s WMA CVD? $350 N/A 9 of 10 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: This player plays VCD and SVCD very well SVCD: 740x576 PAL, 704x576 PAL and even 640x480 PAL Plays VBR on VCD and SVCD but when bit rates drops below a certain limit on VCD you will get distortet picture. So keep minimum level in tmpgenc. Plays 128 kbps audio and even Joint Stereo. Does not support chapters. plays mp3 very well but does not some play mp3 files that have MP3 ID Tags. when you remove the Tag it works. Strange.

CVD? $450 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: this is a little beauty of a player,plays dvd-r np at all plays every make of cd i can throw at it in vcd and svcd format,nice looking player also,picture and sound quality is superb,a bonus feature if u are in the uk it converts ntsc to pal 50 :) fantastic value for money i say and its really quiet too

CVD? $450 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: Nothing to complain about, it works great with every VCD and SVCD I've tried (Burnt on Kodak Gold+Silver media). I have made them with both Nero and VCDImager. SVCD works with both CBR and VBR. I couldn't get SVCD-chapters to work though. I guess there's no support for them. I bought a Philips DVD952 before this one. It even played DVD-movies skippy! Not to mention VCD's. Several times the player hanged and reset. I returned it to store and bought this one, and I couldn't be more satisfied. The picture quality is great, the SVCD's looks nicer than they looked before when I played them on my computer and connected my graphiccard's tv-out to the tv. Of course the commercial DVD-discs play nice too. Haven't been able to try DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R or DVD+R yet. It has an bitrateindicator on DVD/SVCD/VCD. The remotecontrol works with your tv. The player is also very silent. Can't hear it from the couch. This one is the one to get! I recommend this to everyone. If you are from sweden look up the best price on pricerunner.
