CVD? $? 7 days 7 of 10 Comments: Not a bad unit for the money. VCR playback quality isn't as good as the Magnavox it replaced. Warning: Could not get it to play Region 0 DVD's. Had to use DVD Decrypter to change to Region 1 and re-burn.

CVD? $? 60 days 8 of 10 Comments: DVD+VR format from a Lite-On 5005 recorder will not play. Menu looks just fine but will not play titles at all -- just gets error code 4. I sent a report to JVC and no reply whatever to the report. Supposedly, DVD+VR is a very compatible format, but this unit seems to be missing the software to run it properly. I can take the DVD+VR and convert it to plain DVD video format on my PC and then the JVC reads it fine. Otherwise, a nice unit for the price.

CVD? $125 7 days 1 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Memorex DVD-RWs burned by my Pioneer A05 burner skip during high motion scenes. Other players can play the discs just fine. SVCDs burned on CD-RWs work play but seeking through them is absolutely terrible! It takes about 30 seconds to seek backwards one minute. The remote control layout is unergonomic and difficult to use. The user interface is just as bad. The front panel display is an el cheapo LED display. The unit boasts of automatic clock set, but it can't find any station to set the clock with. That feature works perfectly with my Panasonic VCR. The open/close button has to be pressed a long time before the disc tray will open. I returned the unit and bought a Philips DVP-642.

MP3 lacks shuffle.. just a continous play..
