CVD? $450 N/A No rating Comments: Perfect player. I had no problems with mp3, svcd, vcd, dvd and cd-rw. Very clear picture. I love this player!

Now I encoded some songs using Lame MP3 encoder (instead of Frauenhofer) at 320kbit CBR. It worked fine! So my new conclusion must be that DVD25 supports 320kbit (CBR) and up to 256kbit in both CBR and VBR.

Everything from 96-256kbit played fine. 320kbit playback was not good for some reason (strange...)

CVD? $500 N/A 8 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: Tried out the X(S)VCD/miniDVD and the SVCD samples found on this webpage. The XSVCD sample played without sound and after a few seconds the playback turned choppy. The XCVD sample played fine although a few glitches in the sound. All three SVCD samples worked great incl. menu, stillpicture, PBC and chapters. (I forgot to try out the audio and subtitles though. More on that later). No miniDVD compability. This disv was recogniced as a mp3-disc. (All samples where tested using CD-RWs)

It works! Just dont`t stop the player in the midle of the sequence!

N/A No rating Comments: Haven't bought this one yet, but considering it heavily. Went down to my local store with a bunch of my CD's in order to test it against MP3 and SVCD. Everything I tried worked, i.e mp3 w/jouliet and folder hierarchy, SVCD (both on CD-R and CD-RW). Looks promising...
