CVD? $200 14 days 5 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX XviD Chipset: Sunplus SPHE82??? Comments: Nowadays, we have two version of this DVD players. I had pleasure to test both. Both versions are based on Sunplus processor. One of them is SPHE8281D, second one is SPHE8281S. Generally when I tested everything was ok, but... If you have processor "S" version - you are lucky man. In this player you have free region (set is 0) and next things - player can read subtitles from *.txt files. When you use processor "D" version - problems start. This version have newer firmware, for example - 20050703 W526 64M 16BIT Region code is set on 6. Player don't read subtitles from *.txt files. DVD's from US and Europe don't work. You have "Wrong Region" on the screen. Now, how to enter to secret menu. First open tray then press 9735 from remote controller to display special menu. If you can see additional menu, that mean you have processor "S" and you have full access to change region, main password and rating. You should select region 0 - free for all countries. If your player don't work with 9735 code, try 5168. If this code is working, you are out of luck probably. You can see your firmware, chip ID etc. but you can't enter to region setting. You can set up password and rating only. Very often region is set on 6 and how I wrote higher, DVD's from US and Europe don't work. In my opinion, if you want to crack this restriction, you need correct firmware. Nowadays producer dont't support this. How to be in the future - I don't know. Best Regards for all.
