CVD? $50 N/A 1 of 10 Comments: Thought I'd try this one from walmart to replace the Apex and Norcent that died within a week. This one is junk too. This one worked for 2 weeks and then just stopped.The door wont open either.I unplugged it and tryed again and got my disc out.Tryed a brand new DVD worked for about 15 min then stopped again...same deal.back to Walmart it goes.I think I'll try a Sony this time..I've had it with Walmarts stuff.

CVD? $60 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: This is an update to my earlier post. It plays great. Cdr's work well, and DVD+R work perfect. Thats all I really need and it plays MP3 files. No complaints and a good price.

CVD? $60 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: just picked this up at wal-mart for my mom's Christmas gift, I opened it up and was playing around with it, It seems to play every DVD-r that i have put in it... for the price its a good buy. I give it 8 out of 10

N/A No rating Comments: Just bought this for my Mother for christmas. The box indicates CDR/CDRW playback, and all the previous model's play CDR/CDRW. I wonder if they have made an upgrade since this player first came out ? As Advertised it should play CDR/CDRW but not VCD. I will advise further after some testing.

N/A 5 of 10 Comments: Nice looking and cheap. WILL NOT play VCD or SVCD on any type of W/RW media. Took it back to the store after 1 hour.

CVD? $60 N/A 7 of 10 DVD-RAM Comments: I haven't tried everything on this yet. Replaced my 3 yr old Philips DVD825. I have given it Verbatim DVD+R/RWs, and it has played flawlessly so far. I am using DVDXCopy and DVDDecrypter to rip DVDs. I haven't tried playing any MP3s or CD-R/RWs or VCD/SVCDs of any kind. I did give it a badly burned Sony CD-R VCD that would play in my Philips but skipped, and it did not recognize it. I'm not sure if it is because it is a CD-R or VCD or that it was badly burned. I don't dabble in VCD/SVCDs anymore since purchasing a Plextor PX504A DVD+R/RW drive. But I will later try a VCD/SVCD on a DVD+R/RW and CD-R/RW out of curiousity. The box and display at Walmart stated the player only plays DVD/DVD-R/MP3, but the manual has DVD/DVD-R/DVD-RW/DVD+R/DVD+RW/MP3. I haven't heard of any region-free or Macrovision hacks. I will post more after exploring the capabilities.
