CVD? $70 60 days 8 of 10 DVD-MP3 DivX XviD Comments: Model #DVD860 (basically the same model). I also bought it from Asda at the price of £39.99 ($70) An excellent BUDGET priced divx player, has played every divx/xvid i've thrown at it. Only used CDR/RW's & DVD-R/RW's as that's all i use, so i couldn't comment on +R/RW's? Very simple to operate. Supposed to suffer from reliability problems? but upto now mines worked faultlessly (time will tell). Comes from asda with a one year no quibble guarantee, so if it fails within the first 12 months they will replace it free of charge (and also refund money if it gets cheaper in price...lol). Much better than the yamada DVX-6600 rubbish i bought last year (which cost me twice as much). If your after a budget priced divx player you cant go wrong!

CVD? $? 3 days 2 of 10 DivX XviD Comments: Makes a horrid clicking sound when playing a desk, very irrating unless drowned out by volume of tv. Plays divx/xvid though.

CVD? $? 120 days 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX XviD Comments: Dual DVD860: Excellent machine - plays everything I want it to. If only it would keep doing so! I've already had to return it for exchange at Asda once, and am on the point of doing so again. It seems to work brilliantly for a couple of months, then will only play about half a brand new regular DVD before locking up. I've tried every way of cleaning the lens I can think of, and although this sometimes works temporarily it soon gives up again. I'll be returning it tomorrow and if this one doesn't work then I'll give up and go for something else. So - excellent machine, but maybe not very reliable!

CVD? $70 3 days 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX XviD Chipset: MediaTek MT1389GE Comments: Bought from Asda, model is DVD860, but checked manufacture's website www.dual.fr and its is exactly the same as the DVD900 with the memory card reader. Haven't updated the firmware yet, but it plays most xvid and divx file, including packed bitstream, ones smoothly. The production date says July 2005 on the sticker at the back of my player, so might have a newer firmware than the one available on their website, which is dated March 2005.

MP3 WMA CVD? $60 2 days 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX XviD MPEGISO Comments: Great little player, it seems to handle all that I throw at it. The only problem I had was with a compressed/packed DivX file, but certainly it can handle DivX 3-5 version files as well as WMA, MP3, JPG and all the usual suspects. For the price this is a great value little piece of kit. Somewhat shiny for HIFI/TV equipment but slim enough to go unnoticed by crawling babies! The remote control is somewhat long and slim and for those with wide fingers, hard to control. The buttons are not so easy to find without really knowing the layout of it and watching TV in a dark room. The manual that came with my DVD900 was ONLY in German although it is relatively simple to switch the language setting from DEUTSCH to ENGLISH in the setup menu. Very fast at loading a 4,7Gb disk packed with avi files although the sound of the disk reader became apparant occasionally.
