Nice litle player, but completely useless customer support. Have a look over on http://www.dkdivx.co.uk/forum/ before deciding to buy this, or any other DK digital products.

Had This Player about a week and put it thru some tests.
Plays just about anything you throw at it, altho Divx and Xvid movies will need to be unpacked to watch them without picture judder.
Mpeg4 Modifier is the application i use to unpack, very easy to use application, altho u will need microsoft net framwork 1.1 to run the application.
Check Links Below for Apps.

Ok, now for a serious point to this post. There are alot of posts around about a MTT1389.BIN firmware upgrade, let me stress that this firmware does not work at all as i tried it and knackered my DK339 up and had to go buy a new one. Firmware version 44.xx.xx.05 is the latest firmware according to a confirmed email from DK Digital themselves.
I can also confirm that this player so far has played Divx/Xvid subtitles as well, tested on a few movies and no problems so far.
Anyway, i will maybe add more info if i come up with anything new.
All in all a very good player excpet for the unpacking of Divx files. BTW i also have the new DK 500 Player and will post some comments once i have had chance to test different media types. |

Has the problems with Xvid files with a packed bitstream. But when unpacked it works perfectly.
Just tested it with the sample Divx6 file and it works perfectly. The subtitles in the file are all selectable and so are the audio tracks. The file has a packed bitstream and it has no problems with this. |

I bought this player for 55 Euro and its one of the best DVD Players in the lower price segment i've ever had.
Except its not supporting DiVX/XviD subtitles and sometimes a noisy drive i really love this player.
Tested lots of dvd+-r(w) and this little thingy reads it all. |

Hiya, has anybody experienced the same problem as myself on files of 1.36gb or more? of the film cutting out completely. I've sent the following mail to the company hoping for a reply, and will try contacting them soon. Id just like to know if its only me, and surely if anyone of you has a dvd burner then if you can try joining up a full movie file into one and playing it back - see if it cuts out at the end..
Cheers,
Tuck
"Hi there,
I recently purchased your DK Digital DVD-339 dvd player, primarily for the purpose of playing divx content. So far my results of this have been very impressive, however a few major bugs have affected my use of this player, some at first being minor niggles, others being a bit more serious and hampering performance. I tried using various different methods, but then by process of elimination worked out what was wrong, and thought to bring this to your attention to hope that you either already know of the problem, or have a fix ongoing.
Anyway, to the problem itself. On taking the player, I played a dvd disc (all files verified and checked for readability), with divx content. I noticed on some movie titles that I could not rewind, only to forward, and that also the search button would not work. This I put down to perhaps being that the particular first file was a divx3.11 file and knowing not officially supported put it down to a minor niggle which was a small annoyance rather than a problem in itself. I then tried to watch a divx movie (it was divx3.11) Mars Attacks which was 1.36gb in filesize....upon about 80minutes into the movie the file just ended abruptly. Again I put this down to the possibility of it being a divx3.11 at first. I then proceeded to watch a few regular movies which played fine (occasionally an out of sync problem - but nothing a fast forward would not fix, and I was pleased with the player
then looked at working out the reason why that particular divx3.11 file wouldn't work and started to watch other 3.11 files which appeared to run fine. I then later watched one of my own creations, both 1.36gb files, and again, about 20minutes towards the end of the film the film terminated
Out of curiousity, I split the film into 2 halves of 700mb, and then replayed on the player and with several different files.
both divx3.11 and divx5 using the Home Theatre profile, all failed when the file was 1.36gb (probably around about the 1gb mark), but when split up there was no problem whatsoever.
To summarise, I have come to the conclusion that there is currently a big bug in files that are over 1gb in filesize on the player, and was wondering and hoping whether or not you had already encountered this problem (try it yourself by joining a 2cd avi if needs be, regardless of codec), alternatively if it may be my given machine at fault and needing to be returned to the retailer, or but hopefully if you are working on, or have already created a firmware fix for this problem?
I am going to post this on relative dvd forum sites to try and find out other peoples experiences with using the player. As I said, I have no problem with the player itself and am impressed with your product, however this is an important fix that I feel needs fixing, as I dont want to have to have breaks at halfway points in all of my movies I create to disc.
I hope to hear from you soon, if you need any help you can email me on the above address
All the best,
Paul Tucker" |

It has MT1389GE chipset, so, it's not compatible with Elta 8883 MP4 (MT1389DE).
Don't use Elta upgrade on Dk-339.
GE series has small chips bugs... that firmware upgrade cannot fix!
Video playback is much more blokky than Loomax X50 (I own both), but all the rest is superior!
PaperManual is wrong on compatibility section, it reads almost everything
Nice buy if you find at nice price... |

Currently missing true Progressive Scan output due to a firmware glitch (to be fixed by DK Digital urgently) and, like most MediaTek chipset players, does not currently support DivX subtitles, although this is promised in the future.
Nice little player for the money (£80). Full review at Area 450 - http://www.area450.com |

| This player is now being sold at Saturn in Germany. I've seen on an English (UK) site that it is a clone from the Elta 8883MP4. But then on a German site I read that it has a Mediatek 1389GE chip, which means that it's not an Elta clone but more likely a Medion 7457 Clone. So now I don't know what to believe ! |
