Bought this as a low budget 2nd DVD player for the bedroom. Very impressed!!! Tested CD-R/VCD, MP3, DVD-R and all worked perfectly. It wouldn't play a Region 1 disk at 1st but after 2 mins on the internet I found the fix to make it region free, worked a charm. Even tried a high quality KVCD encoded at 720x576 with a bitrate min of 750 and a max of 2500, played it fine. Will try other bitrates out. For $69.98 AUD it is an absolute bargain!!! Doesn't come with AV Cables but batteries for the remote are included.

Just got this home as a spare DVD player for my garage. It cost $98 AUD (approx. $60 USD), so I really wasn't expecting much. Boy oh Boy! Was I ever wrong! OK, the unit and remote is a cheapo looking package BUT, the unit plays DVD, DVD-R, SVCD, VCD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 and WMA. For the price UNBEATABLE! If you need a spare DVD player go out and get one. If you are looking for a nice entry level DVD player, you could pay a lot more to get a lot less than this player has to offer.
