N/A 10 of 10 Comments: This dvd player came with a home theater system I purchased at Sears for $699.99 in late 2002. I have used DVD Shrink 3.1.7.5 beta version to back up some of my dvd collection and this player has handled what I have thrown at it so far. I have used Verbatim Digital Movie DVD-R(4X) burned at 2.4X and Maxell DVD+R(4X) burned at 4x with no problems. It has accepted my cdr complilations. I have not yet made a mp3 cd for the player because my computer is connected to my stereo.

MP3 VBR WMA CVD? $300 N/A 9 of 10 DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: Media compatibility tested with: * 1x DVD-RW Verbatim * 2x DVD-R Verbatim * 4x DVD-R Verbatim * 2x DVD-RW pioneer * 1x DVD-R bulkpaq gen3/r2 all burned with a TEAC DV-W50E. All work fine. SVCD have to be fooled into being a VCD to play (e.g. with TMPGEnc) MP3 names get cut at 27 chars.

CVD? $400 N/A 9 of 10 DivX Comments: In Paris, France, I assist a friend to buy it and the seller let me test my VCD and SVCD burned on cheap CD-R. It works perfectly. Off course, the quality of image and sound off a regular DVD movie on a Plasma screen is amazing. For free, fhe seller has removed the region code and macrovision !!! And assure me that it will be style garantee because the firmware CD comes from DENON ! Cyril

N/A No rating MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: These comments are from my experience testing a unit in a store. I do not own this player. Testing with a disc of MP3s, the player does support filenames longer than the mangled 8 character ones. I didn't count, but they may get chopped at around 16 characters or so. I tried a VCD created with Nero, and the machine did not recognize the disc. I also tried a couple of XVCDs, and it did not recognize them either.
