MP3 VBR 320kbit/s WMA VBR 320kbit/s CVD? $250 N/A No rating miniDVD/cDVD JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX MPEGISO DVD-MPEGISO Comments: more tests done: plays DVD+RW. sometimes a little freeze (let's say 1/3rd of a second) at chapter change (problem never accurs with commercial DVDs). no other freeze or bugs. Media used: maxdisk DVD+RW (2x) tested with 5 different disks, each being burned more than 2 times. Writer used: sony DRU-510A. Software: nero 6 and tmpg dvd-author. does not play mini-DVD (I authored a DVD < 700Mb with tmpg dvd-author and burned it to a CD-RW with nero mini-dvd template). Player says disk error. disk not faulty since the PC reads it with winDVD. also this disk (sony metal azo cdrw 10x) is read by the player when burned in audio-cd or svcd. so I'm sure it is related to the mini-dvd format not being recognized.

I use the european version with RVB output from the scart to a rearprojector (with internal prog scan). The 10bit/54MHz video N/A converter give more microdetails (skins for exemple) than on my old (thomson) 10b/27MHz player. Color is "cinema" like: not oversatured like on my previous thomson. The price is a little too high (some 200$ players have the same features). We are paying about 100$ for the aluminium front plate and the brand. But this front plate is rare feature for an entry level DVD player: it does not look as cheap as its price (other <300$ players are made of plastic), so it can proudly stand on a 1000$ denon amp: That is what I was looking for (I do no need progscan, sacd or dvd-a) tested CDR: no-name, verbatim azo, verbatim low-end. tested CDRW: sony

N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: Everything i've tried with both VCD and SVCD works perfect on both CD-R and CD-RW. Mp3 in subfolders works. Single .MPG, .WMA on disc works fine. Single .JPG on disc works fine. I'm totally satisfied with the player.
