CVD? $? over 1 year 9 of 10 MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: Excellent player at a very reasonable price. Plays most stuff I've tried great. I recently bought a DVD-/+R recorder and I look forward to try those in combination. The tray is sometimes stuck when I've played a DVD, and tray is a little noisy. First time a DVD film was stuck in the player, I panicked a little since it was a rented movie. Found out that if I opened the tray lid I could pull the tray out a little and then it automatically opened. Except for that glitch I'm happy with the player and what I payed for it.

CVD? $150 N/A 9 of 10 Comments: An excellent machine, plays VCDs SVCDs MP3s etc perfectly. A bit fussy with dvd-r media, but I've had success recently with Datawrite Classic Yellow top media.

Have been told this player is very choosy about the dvdr media it will play....so maybe another media will work.

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: I got this player as it was cheap, from Tesco yeah, and with staff discount, lol. It's good, plays MP3s ok, MPGS and VCDs play as well. It does suffer from lipsync though, but as it was cheap, i thought that was why. I mean my parents paid over £500 for their 5 disc changing, Panasonice model, and i think that suffers with lipsync on some VCDs. Not that i've tried many! And theirs dont play MP3s either!

N/A No rating MP3 long filename Comments: A great player. Plays allmost everything i put in to it. It plays Original DVD's a bit darker than my old LG-DVD (but that one din't read any burnt media) I have encounterd a broblem thow, i cant start my "Fellowship of the ring" original DVD. The "Making of" DVD has the same star side, and runns without any problem. I tried the disk in my computer and there it works fine. So my guess is that it is the Dansai player who wont play the damm thing. But beside that little issue, By it !!

N/A 8 of 10 MP3 long filename Comments: Excellent compatability. DVD-RW (Princo), DVD-R (All4mats.com,White Label amongst others) no problems. I suspect a lot of people submitting these tests are using discs that they think they`ve recorded as ok but are not ( sorry to sound cynical but it`s GOT to be the CORRECT structure). This player was cheap ( tray a bit flimpsie) but hey, it`s played most things i`ve thrown at it. And, oh. The hack- so EASY!!!Don`t know if they still make this player but grab one if you can. Only draw back is the sound output- can`t have digital and analogue together). Excellent player no the less.

N/A 5 of 10 Comments: Was really pleased with this player at first as i wanted to play VCD/SVCD i had downloaded. Sound was great picture quality was great but then i noticed on a few movies i was suffering from LipSync, which made it horrible to watch. Took the unit back to Tescos and got a replacement but that also suffered the same problems, so i got a refund. Went out and bought the JVC XV-S300BK / XV-S302SL which plays all my VCD/SVCD perfectly and build quality is tops;) Maybe i had a bad batch of Dansias as know one else has reported LipSyncing problems.

MP3 VBR WMA CVD? $150 N/A 10 of 10 MP3 long filename Comments: An outstanding drive with quality image output, excellent audio clarity, mp3 reproduction far outstripping that of the Wharfedales. Will even play .mpg files burnt straight to a data CD, no need for VCD/SVCD formatting of disks. Although there is an easy Macrovision hack, it's pointless as the unit is physically incapable of providing Macrovision protection anyway, as it's internal video encoder chip does not feature it. So, macrovision free straight out of the box, simple region free hack, plays dodgily created SVCDs where friend's DVD players (notably Wharfedale M5) have failed, looks good too.... can't be beaten by any dvd player under £200 in my opinion, all for 99 quid.

Tried several DVD-R discs but nothing would work at all (same in my friends Dansai player).

CVD? $125 N/A 9 of 10 MP3 long filename Comments: if it played cd&g karaoke it would get 100% however. it only gets a 9.if you had 9.5then thats were our vote would really go. converting divx with tmpgenc to svcd. burning on plextor 12/10/32 ide. nero 8.2 software discs [1]AAA 8x [2]data safe 32x if i write faster than 4x pixelation problems occur this is when using nero so i usually make a master with nero at 4x thendo other copies eg 4 my son & daughter using clone burning @10x or 12x some of my friends are writing at 32x using data safe 32x discs,nero,or cdrwin on liteon32x 40x burners and getting consistantly very good results. however what we are all awaiting is a patch or some software to enable the playing of divx on our standalone dvd players. see you later.
