| After a year and half, it suddenly stopped working. I cleaned the lens but it don't seem to work. So I have got what I've paid for... It's better to pay the double of the price for a dvd player that will last... |

DivxTest CD works well except 2 formats.
I have 2 CD-R with Divx movies and it didn't play them.
Some JPGs seems to be displayed with bad quality.
Except that it is a good player for the price. |

Convert NTSC to PAL and PAL to NTSC. Region hack available via remote. 2 models available: Power button with blue or green light (I own the green light one).
Can be picky on some DVDs(original).
Work fine with Ridata CD-R 52x and Memorex DVD-R 16 X. Tested many brands like Princo, TDK, Sony DVD-R and tons of generic DVD-R and all worked fined. |

I got Daenyx DV5602 dvd player yesterday, but haven't had time to hook it up yet. I notice its not listed here. Maybe its too new?. I tried to add it and since the Daenyx DV2001 is listed here I came here to ask how can I add the Daenyx DV55602 player. I know the model number but not the manufacturers website. Is it associated with Daewoo? Daewoo have several websites, so I wouldn't know which was correct if any of them are correct. I tried to choose between the Philips DVP642 and Daenyx DV-5602 but don't know which one I should choose and still don't. Does anyone here know if the dvd player I got just came out. I paid $47.00 Can.$ for it at Walmart but models here were only $20.00. It seems to have a lot of features including HDMI Port, S-video, plays MP3's, Plays Pal and NTSC DVD's,etc. I don't see DivX listed in features. The manual doesn't give much detail, so features are on side of the box. How can I add this DVD player to the other Daenyx products listed here?
I wish there were some reviews for it, but don't see anywhere here or on a google search. |

| I just got Daenyx DV-5602. I havent used it yet. I don't see any reviews on it here and would really like to know if anyone has opinions about it or if they ever heard of it or if they have seen it in stores. I am reluctant to keep a dvd player that has no reviews. I don't know if I should keep it. I have a choice of getting a Philips DVP642(37A) but read the manual in the store and it says DVP642 (37) will not play all regions such as PAL and thats what I want. |

Excellent player for the money...($29 CDN). Nice and small too. I had my first one for about 8 months before it failed. It essentially runs 24/7 looping divx/xvid video but all of a sudden stopped one day and went back to the menu. All attempts to start playing again failed and it said "unsupport format" (yeah, nice English!). So, I thought maybe the disc was damaged/worn so I tried another disc, but then all discs failed either indicating "no disc" or "err disc". I took it back to Toys R Us and exchanged it for a new one.
The new one has a green LED around the power button, the old one had blue. Apparently there are differences in the supported formats - the green (new model) supports less, but I haven't confirmed.
Anyways, after just two months, the new one failed. My guess is the laser is failing.....will have to go exchange it again :(

Excellent!!!
My only concern is that I cant read subtitles in cyrillic...it displays weird characters...
I guess there should be some sort of code to do that... |

Well, I'm just amazed at what this little gem of a player can do; I'm even more amazed that it was so cheap; and I'm absolutely flabbergasted that the store selling it is Toys'R'Us :)
I was looking for an inexpensive, good DivX player that was compact, not full-size, and wouldn't give me any hassles playing lots of formats. The DV2001, from what I've read, and now from having played with it for a couple of days, absolutely fills that bill perfectly.
Picture? Clear, sharp, even on DivX. Noise? The player is absolutely quiet. File compatibility? I haven't thrown the book at it, but from the few files I've played, it seems to work flawlessly.
The only major potential downside left to be seen is whether or not it will last. It just so happens there was a DV2001 showing DVD's as part of a display at the local Toys'R'Us where I went to buy it. I asked the lady how long that player had been there and whether she'd seen any problems with it. She said it had been there a year, running all day, every day during open hours of the store, and it hadn't so much as missed a beat. Someone else on an online forum said they'd had a Daenyx DVD player for two years and it was still working fine. So I'm thinking we're good on that score.
The ONLY cons: no power button on the remote, and a very no-frills menu system with only about 20 character filename support. And I guess if you love LED displays on the front of your player, you'll hate this one. But who cares?? It plays any discs perfectly--what more do you want? For $30 CAD with tax included, this is the steal of the year. I'm tempted to go buy another one just as a backup.

(sorry for my english, I'm from QC)
Pros :
-volume control
-play mpeg-4 files flawlessly
-display elapsed and remain time
-low price ;)
-play more files than my lg lda530 !!
-play mp3/wma
-play mpeg1/mpeg2 even they are not standard
-play the audio track in *.wmv files (i think its wma)
-good image quality
-audio, video and picture separated menus
-brightness and contrast adjustable
-one year warranty
Cons :
-no display in front of player
-difficult to navigate in file browser
-very ugly GUI
-not fast rev and fwd in divx/xvid mode (about 8x even if you select 20x)
-the power button... It's like on old tv; a switch
-no power button on remote
-ugly but strong remote
He can play lot of things, flawlessly. Has many function. But the menu is very ugly and hard to use.
Recommend this player for people who don't want to pay 100$ for a player who play less files than a cheap 25$ player like the Daenyx DV2001.
Remember the price: 25$ CND, for this price, it's a very good player. |
