CVD? $169 N/A 5 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD Comments: Very nice picture qualtity BUT can NOT play interlaced-DVDs or SVCDs. Because of that you can not play any home-made SVCDs converted from Camcorders or TV. :-( That is caused by a hardware (chip) malfunction. Anyone with these problems contact Cyberhome and swap for a AD-M 212. I did that and am now happy.

CVD? $185 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: Very nice for the price, expcept for the crappy DVD-Drive. Had to exchange the DVD-Drive once to get good performance (Cyberhome payed for that). Some players hang on MP3 playback after about 10 tracks. Stop and Play resolves that. SVCD Playback is very nice (and the reason I bought this player).

CVD? $185 N/A 8 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD Comments: Amazing for the price! Plays everything: VCD, xVCD, xVCD with VBR, CVD (352X576), SVCD, xSVCD. Also plays DVD-R (and DVD-RW, but not always, have to re-insert sometimes). Soon I will test DVD+RW and I shall report A notice: You can feed re-muxed mpeg 2 files riped from satellite feeds and play them with no problem with this player! You don't even have to resize: It plays at 352X288, 352X576, 480X570, 522X576, 702X576! No encoding, no downsampling, nothing! Just grabb the satellite transmission, de-mux and re-mux it with TMPEGenc, as a SVCD. Then burn the mpeg2 file with nero (add the "scandata.dat" file also to the EXT folder) and that's it! In a way, it is like miniDVD... If you encode with TMPEGenc to SVCD, CVD or SxVCD, then use from the advance setting menu the "Field order: Top Field first (Fild A)". I don't know why, but this player plays better encoded files that way... With Mp3 you don't have titles of the songs(that is bad). Plays VBR and CBR mp3s, up to 224kb/s Upgradable with a cd-r/w. Better use the hacked version you will find at www.cyberhome-help.de. No problems with 90min CDs too... Macrovision and Region free on older versions Includs coaxial and optical audio output Changing the DVD-Rom with another one, makes player even better (that is for hardware freaks ofcourse...) What to say: If you live in Europe, buy one!

CVD? $169 N/A No rating Comments: Although it recognizes a homeburned VCD-CDR it doesn't play flawless: The sound is OK, but the image skips every some seconds. THIS DIFFERS PER DEVICE: Tested a few in the shop and some were better as others. Used several sorts and colors of CDR-layers with no difference: for home-made VCD this device is a No (to me atleast). I returned it to the shop and swapped for a Grundig GDV130.

Important : When these players are downgraded with firmware 8, RC and MV are still ON !!!!!! So try getting a player with a firmware < 9
