CVD? $? over 1 year 1 of 10 Comments: I bought 2 of these players about 2 years ago (2003). Both failed within the past six months. I tried to clean the lens with windex and qtip, but that didn't work. Electronics seem to be working; but the transport is not reading the discs. Error message on screen is always bad disc.

CVD? $? 14 days 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: I got this at Fry's for $25 the Friday before Columbus day. It has played everything I put in it with out even a hic-cup. It even played an improperly authored DVD (I bought on the steets of LA for $5)that would not play in any other player I have tried. I read a previous posters report about the Matrix Lobby Scene test. I must have a newer version player because mine played the scene fine. I like the look of the interface and the remote. It switches between Interlace, Progressive scan,RGB and S-vid on the fly which is very good for comparison tests. The compact slim-line look is very ritzy, makes it look like a more expensive player. Works better than my Sony, and 2 Apex players I have.

CVD? $50 30 days 1 of 10 Comments: Bot this player at Fry's for $50. Used Fuji DVD-R 8X, worked on some, didnt on others. Same with DVD+R Fuji 4X. This player is junk, keep having to burn multiple DVD's to see which one works. Even skips on original movies too. Wish I still had the receipt, would return. Will be replacing the player, more trouble than the small savings.

CVD? $? 90 days 7 of 10 Comments: I bought dvd-215 in korea at the P.X(a store for american soldiers living in a camp) the problem is that dvd made from korea can't be played because the code is different. so i want it code-free by using remote controller(but i don't the how to do it.) can you explain how to change the code?

CVD? $40 180 days 1 of 10 Comments: Sometimes this player plays commercially produced disks without a hitch, but most of the time, it skips terribly, and there are times where I see artifacts from progressive scan on the screen. This was bought for us as a gift, but if I had bought it myself, I would retrun it. It is a terrible player not worth any amount of money.

CVD? $30 N/A 5 of 10 DVD-WMA DVD-RAM Comments: I bought this for $26.99 at frys on sale. It can play mpeg1 file from CD-RW but cannot from DVD+RW. Some DVD player can do.

CVD? $40 N/A 2 of 10 Comments: got it for $35 at frys on sale. it played a simple disney disc reasonably for a while so i figured i'd give it the Matrix lobby scene test... It started hanging and skipping without any audio once they got into the elevator. bad player. being returned. its cheap for a reason.

CVD? $50 N/A 3 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: Played VCDs from CD-Rs and CD-RWs just fine. Even played random SVCD & VCD files (MPEG-2 & MPEG-1) on a data disc (CD-R) without flaw. W/O SVCD formatting. Which I thought was odd. But cool. Tried a disc that was burned with the VCD Header trick, and only the audio worked. Maybe it plays SVCD discs. I didn't try. Tried discs with MP3 files on them, and the MP3s played perfectly. Even showed ID tag info while the song played. Didn't show long filenames though. Which was a bummer. I'm returning the DVD player because it didn't play factory burned DVDs properly. I purchased brand new, uscratched copies of Pirates otC, and The Lion King: both jumped around every 15 minutes or so. I put both the discs in my Panasonic A120 (which is ~4 years old), and the discs played flawlessly. I had paid 50 bucks, so maybe you get what you pay for. I'm going to purchase a "Philips DVD-727" as it appears to meet all my needs, is fairly cheap, and has gotten good reviews here.
