CVD? $100 over 1 year 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DivX Comments: I have had this dvd player for a long while now i realy like it it does not like dust though so i clean it after 10-20 dvd plays mostly rented dvd's some vcd, i notice mine does have microvision at least the way i have it hook up i always say this thing will read your hand if u put it in there man this thing just wants to read to qute another poster i got mine at ames just berfore our local one went the only problem is dust and the model i have will not take any of the hacks posted on many sites have tried every witch way but to no aval oh well i got the offa firmware updater but i need a way of updating it with a cd

CVD? $70 N/A 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Got this at K-mart I think or maybe Ames. Seems to play DVD with no Macrovision. I run the video output to a cheap VCR and then to the RF of my TV and they play fine. VCD, SVCD played with no problem. Sometimes DVD's don't want to start and you have to turn it off and start with the DVD already inserted. Scratchy DVD don't play well.

Without a hitch. MP3s? Sure. VCD 2.0? Got it. SVCD? Yup. Broken SVCD which I thought was a coaster? Hey, it plays that too. It works with all the CD-R brands I've tried. It also plays all DVDs perfectly without breakup, even DVDs from other countries (if you have the know-how). I only have two problems with it, in fact: - S-Video does not appear to work. This could probably be fixed if I opened up the box and glued back in the piece that rattles around when I shake it, but I haven't tried that yet. - The picture that comes up when you first turn it on is a really cruddy-looking badly compressed JPEG. Yeah, that /so/ takes points off ;) If you're looking for a DVD player and can find a place that sells this one, then buy it. Unless if you find a new, miracle $50 everything-player.

I mentioned some of the other specs before in my previous posty about this DVD Player, hope it helps someone...will do more testing and report...

CVD? $70 N/A 1 of 10 Comments: I have had this thing about 4 months. Used very little now it refuses to load DVD's. makes a skipping sound and eventually says "no disk" or locks up. When it still loaded a DVD, sometimes I'd go to another selection like viewing the "trailer" and it will lock. Will still load VCD's and some CD's (when it is in the mood). DOn't know whether to send it in or not. The "warranty" after 90 days will cover only parts. Probably will need about $.75 worth of parts and $200. worth of labor after paying $15 to send it in.

CVD? $50 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: I saw an add for this player in a newspaper for Brandsmart it said 75$ for I managed to get it for 50$..I had just started to make VCD;s and now I have moved up to SVCD;s...and I was amazed..my plan was to use this shit for maybe a week or so to try it out because I had tried other VCD players and really didn't do a good job..but this..WHOA !.. I would give it a 10+. So far the CD brands I have tried on the player are SONY IMATION SPIN-X VERBATIM TDK HYPERMEDIA FUJIFILM PHILIPS Software Used Nero Encoder TMPGEnc Also the multi region and Macrovision hack is available in the DVD Player Hacks section. Gonna try it out..! Mpeg-1 & Mpeg-2's work good but it depends on what kind of quality they are ..VCR Ripped..DVD Ripped etc.. Someone said it is a monster...YOU DAMN SKIPPY !!

CVD? $80 N/A No rating JPG/JPEG Comments: I bought my "classic" dvd player last christmas,and hitting this website was plesently surprised that others had a similar player.The problem i am having is about 8mo after making this purchase when putting in dvd's and loading it would come up region error,now it won't play any of the dvd's i have except pearl harbor.I have tried to figure it out but no such luck.If anyone could give me some suggestions i would very much appreciate it.I also purchased it at toys r us.

(Windows 98SE, 224MB RAM, 850 MHZ Athlon, 40gig Maxtor HDD, LG 24x10x40x CD-RW Drive) Test results for all tests (ON Classic DVD 102) were: DVD Screen and Number Display, say: Loading ... If you want a good, but cheap DVD player with MP3 and CD support, get this player, but it doesnt play VCD's. My guess Manufacture Defect in models, Hoax VCD support, Manufacture error (Wrong case, screen or documentation etc...). CVD? $100 N/A 10 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 Comments: I bought this machine in December 2001 and gave away as a present at Xmas without even looking at its capabilities why should I there was nothing on the box saying it did anything other than play dvds. Well it was a rush buy as I was buying toys for my children in toy r us yes that’s right “toys r us” it was cheap only $ 99 so I bought it. The machine came back to me shortly after Xmas as the friends I bought it for had been given a Sony dvd player. 2 months later my jvc machine had a accident with my 5 year old son throwing a bucket of water at it while playing peter pan. So I put the spare dvd player in the “classic 102” and the machine is a monster. It will read anything and I mean anything this machine just wants to play. I have tried in vcd format 25 different brands of disks every one played smoothly. Svcd is the same picture quality is nothing short of excellent. Dvd/ r and dvd /rw are impeccable. It has an excellent feature as well for vcds and Svcd P.B.V. Control. THE P.B.C control allows you to make up your own chapter selections it grabs a frame every 5 minuets of the disk its takes the machine about 30 seconds to make a whole chapter selection. Then you can select with part of the movie you want to see. P b c control sometime is better than some original dvd menu selections. Now if you were not impressed with what you just read here is another feature it plays mp3 flawlessly you can ff or rw them no problem even at 32 speed. The sound is crystal clear. Mp3 dvd is the only problem I have had with the machine it will play mp3 dvd, but not from any pioneer dvd recorder. Every other make of p.c. dvd recorder will play pioneer is the only one that will not make compatible disks the reason for this I have no idea.

It takes a little longer to load than other players but its still worth it. I also use the optial audio output and it is great!

Processes MacroVision (unfortunatly) Can go through VCR, just remove any tapes in it, otherwise you may experience slightly jumpy video (part of the MacroVision processing) VCD/SVCD playing is superb (compared to several higher end models with such manufacturers as Sony, JVC, and RCA).
