It plays other VCD than mine though.. Quite weird..

CVD? $100 N/A 4 of 10 Comments: 3t pro 1x DVD-r burnt with a Pioneer A05 always freeze in the end of the movie. I use a DV-camera Canon XM-1 and make DVD-r with Ulead MovieFactory, Adobe Premiere 6.5 and also Pinnacle 8.8 all with the same bad result. I have tried to play my DVD-r (3t pro) on another standalone players and they work fine, but not on my Gemini. DVD-r 3t pro also works fine on my DVD player Pioneer DVD-106 and DVR-A05 on my computer. Please let me know if you can tell me how to make my Gemini play my homemade DVD-r. Regards, Kent

N/A 7 of 10 MP3 long filename Comments: Nice player, plays almost anything. Don't use SVCD with very high bitrates > 3000 (the movie freezes). Picture Quality: Good colors, but not too sharp, some visible blocks in dark scenes. Audio Quality: Built in DD-Decoder hisses a bit, high frequencies are too quiet (also very low freq.). Digital out sound is okay, some "tac-tac-tac" sounds when the layer changes (optical and coax) (the noise can be heared, when the receiver "waits" for digital sound. Perhaps the player wants to fill the pause :-) There is no noise when using the analog out. Other players (Sony, Cyberhome) didn't show this effekt.

Really nice when u load 980 tracks on a DVD-mp3 =) The only bad thing is the DVD-r support. Cheap medias freezes in the end of the movie, the same thing with DVD-mp3, but instead som tracks are just skipped. But my svcd:s on my VERY cheap noname cd-r:s work great.

I just want to add to these very well made points above, that CD+RW does work on this machine, which should mean that DVD-R works as well, even though I have´nt tried it. The player I have tried has Player version 1.413 and Driver version 3.0 build 4.93, which might explain the success apart from players bought earlier. MP3 VBR WMA CVD $100 N/A 8 of 10 MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: As said before, plays evertything You feed it, only one problem seen, and that is NTSC SVCD:s - some horizontal diffuse lines sweeps over the screen sometimes especially in dark scenes...the PAL-SVCD:s works absolutely perfect though, Ordinary NTSC-VCD (Mpeg-1) works flawlessly, so no probs there, anyway a very good player for little money, the picture quality is very good, but DO NOT mix it up with the Centrum Gemini 200 which DON't have the same quality of the picture. // Tompa

CVD? $175 N/A No rating MP3 long filename Comments: With my new Pioneer DVR-A04 and low cost bulk DVD-R dics it wont play DVD-R. It say MP3 with 0 tracks / 0 bit rate. The DVD-R works in PC DVDs & in a standalone Pioneer DV-444. VCD&SVCD&MP3 works fine.

CVD? $150 N/A 8 of 10 MP3 long filename Comments: Pausing and playing fast forward and rewerse workes superb on all the movies iv tryed And Svcd Selectable Audio Tracks also workes fine iv made a svcd with english and spainish audio and it worked just like a dvd movie No swiching problems ;) Vcd chapters workes fine havnt tryed Svcd chapters Havn´t got Selectable subtitles to work on my svcd´s So i guess that MR_Smurf is right :( It was 1 of the reasons i bought this dvd-player coz i thougt it supported selectable sub´s but u cant have it all Right ? N/A No rating Comments: I've now confirmed that there is no support for SVCD selectable subtitles, not even with the latest firmware. So if you want subtitles nu must encode permanent subtitles on your svcd-movies..

Is SVCD selectable subtitles realy supported?? I could not make it work, but I might just have pushed the wrong buttons... (I used the svcd-samples from http://www.vcdhelp.com/tools.htm) If someone know how to make subtitles work, please drop a comment.

And it works, no Problems, a superb Picture and Soundquality ! I Bought it in Germany from netonnet. I payed 149.- Euro. I Think its the same Player like Proson DVD 2300 and Vestel DVD 2300 !
