Region-Free out of the box, although you can also force the region with a code. The box says it's a 'Mpeg4 & DivX DVD Player', and sure enough, it played all my DivX and XviD files, with Mp3 sound (not tried AC3) absolutely perfectly, from both CDR and DVDR (all. .avi files with Mp3 audio). Even worked with the separate subtitle files! Box says it meets the DivX Certified Technical Requirements. No compatibility with OGM/MKV though. Supports RGB Scart, Component (!) and normal composite, and both analogue and digital 5.1, and even separate audio-out's for the speakers. Prog. Scan, force PAL or NTSC... Also read VCD's, SVCD's, DVD-SVCD's, XVCD's, XSVCD's, the works... also .mpeg, .mp3 and .jpeg files on disc. This player is £34.99 at Sainsbury's, at that price, it's a steal.

A couple of minor issues, sometimes the player locks up - although this is rare, and the media tray blocks the IR sensor when open.

CVD? $? 90 days 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 DivX XviD Comments: Best DVD player I've ever bought for the money. Got it from Sainsburys for 35 quid, and it looks great as well, highly recomended.
