I have not been able to display ID3 TAG for MP3 files, i have to use Folders to arrange my songs on a disc. MP3 on DVD are not working and, DVD format on a CD is not playing. That is not very cool... MP3 are only working if the CD is burned in ISO9660 format.

CVD? $2000 N/A No rating JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename DivX Comments: I miss something very important in this player: it lacks volume control in the remote controller, so you need to buy home cinema loudspeakers with remote control if you don't want to stand up.

MP3 VBR WMA CVD? $100 N/A 6 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: I bought this DVD player 100 euros at Carrefour 09/2003. My first DVD player ! The sound decoder is said DTS compatible. Disc tested : DVD -> OK, acces to track pretty fast, DVD multi-angle -> ok but angle select icon in top right corner never disappear, SVCD with menu -> OK (VBR 2500 kbit/s max), KSVCD -> KO, VCD -> OK, MP3 -> OK in ISO9660 with .mp3 extention, without joliet, display title on front display (no need to switch on TV), JPEG picture -> very slow with big file, picture have to be at reduce size to play smoothly, one stupid thing, the picture title never disappear at the bottom of the screen. CD-RW -> work fine. Video quality : correct via RGB output, I have seen better but i can't test at home. Audio quality on stereo output : DVD player is connected through my hi-fi system. tremble sound metallic, bass are not well defined and lack of strength. Medium are not expressive. I think it's correct enough for watching movie. It's better than a lot of movie theater. I haven't tested 5+1 outputs. Remark : stay allways in standby. Remote control key aren't very good quality but are well disposed. I think this is a good player for 100 euros. The features/price ratio is very good. Eric

CVD? $100 N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: i tried with vervatin and traxdata dvd-r and worked fine. MP3 interface is a litle anoying but sounds well, i also tried KVCD and plays smothly. Good cheap player brought in carrefour. It´s the same as FirstLine fdv40, but don´t buy the firsline option it has worst firmware, bluesky it´s better. If i found a bug while testing it i´ll write another review telling this errors. PD: this site is superb for finding information about players and dvdr media. This site is GREAAAAATTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!
