CVD? $60 over 1 year 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 DivX Comments: This player is semi-perfect. It has played preaty much everything I've thrown at it (Divx, Xvid, SVCD, VCD, MP3, WMA, JPEG). I've owned it for about 2 years and lateley have not been able to play some newer Divx titles (The image looks like a negative). Don't know if the movies are being encoded in a newer version of Divx or if it's just that a higher bit rate is being used. But bottom line is that I am able to watch fewer and fewer movies on this player. I've just downloaded a new firmware from Phillips hoping it will resolve this (Thanks Tony from Sweeden!!). Other than that, when the player works, it's perfect (image quality is as good as can get, sound is awsome). I would still recommed it!

CVD? $70 2 days 5 of 10 DivX XviD Comments: Plays everything I tried, both Divx and Xvid. It does seem to have trouble with Xvid and B-frames at higher bitrates, though most people will probably never encounter such files. There is one very annoying aspect with the Divx subtitles: the player displays a translucid black bar behind the subtitles, which unfortunately covers the entire screen horizontally. As subtitles appear and disappear, this bar flashes on and off. Really very disturbing, and enough reason for me to return it. Also, beware that it has a SCART output, but no input for chaining appliances together! Conclusion: if you don't need subtitles or SCART input, give it a try. It is amazingly cheap and does it job well.

CVD? $? 14 days 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG DivX Comments: got 1 remark about this dvd-player; some of my divx movies play very well on my laptop but on this player it skips frames / doesn't play smoothly. don't know what the problem is ... maybe it has something to do with the bit or framerate. hope there's somebody with a cure for this. all input is welcome.

MP3 WMA 64kbit/s CVD? $70 5 days 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX Comments: Very nice and straightforward DVDplayer. I like the quality of the video. Very easy to use remote, just a few buttons and you don't have to point it exactly to the player. DivX quality is excellent, subtitles (srt) work fine. Until now it played every disc I put in. TIP1: to eject the disc press STOP for about 2 seconds and again to insert it (see the manual). TIP2: to browse through folders (JPEG/MP3/WMA etc)point the cursor to the upper blue bar and press OK repeatedly (not in the manual as far as I know). Some critical remarks: Up till now I had a problem twice to get it out of the standby mode, it completely went dead instead. I had to disconnect it from the electrical power to reset it. According to the manual the player should be able to remember the stopposition of the last 5 discs. But I have not found how is works.

CVD? $90 3 days 9 of 10 DivX Comments: plays almost everything. I tried avi with srt subs and it works great. But with another avi the sound was not in sync with the image. Don't know why. Maybe another codec. SKVCD also plays correct. And VCd and SVCD.

CVD? $80 14 days 8 of 10 DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename DivX Comments: Has so far played everything i have,about 40divx movies. And all burned DVD movies. Can't get external subtitles to work though,movie won't play at all if a .srt file with the same filename is present.Don't really care. Also no eject-button on remote,I kinda liked that on my old Yamada 6000(stopped playing dvds all of a sudden)
