CVD? $? 3 days 1 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: Will not DVD-r/rw Ritek Media (Some Will Play Some Will Not), Memorex (Studders), or TDK (Studders) Will hardly load original DVD movies. Will play mp3 fine on any cd-r media. biggest pain in the but for $40 and Walmart wouldnt take it back. after me having just bought it this past weekend. As they wanted me to exchange for same make and model but yet they wouldnt let me test it before I left out the door with it.

CVD? $50 7 days 9 of 10 DVD-MP3 Comments: Nice! The PAL/NTSC conversion is great and the picture quality is very nice. The AIFF is useful on a small TV. It lost 1 point because the machine is built VERY flimsy. This one is not a good family DVD player because of this, but a great bedroom set for the grown ups.

Suggested retail price of 79.99 from Apex is ludacris. Watch out for the defected ones.All in all a great bargain player, even better if you scored one for free.

MP3 VBR 256kbit/s WMA? CVD? $40 1 days 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename Comments: This is my 2nd Apex DVD Player. Besides the 3 disc one I picked out for my dad. Previously I had an AD-1110W and it was great. Until recently, it would play every mpeg/mpeg2/mp3 I threw at it, then it died. Unfortunatly I went back to Walmart to find they stopped selling. After getting an AD-1150 from Sears and finding it only played dvd and dvd-r I was upset. Fortunatly I have access to the the army base and the PX there. I found an AD-1165. The first one was bad, so I promptly returned it. After the 1150 disappointment I quickly grabbed random disk from vcd/svcd collection, as well as some dvd-r and a dvd+r (the ad-1110 wouldn't play), as well as some cd-r/dvd-r mp3 disk. To my glee I found everydisk I tested played wonderfully. The only reason I couldn't give the AD-1165 10 of 10 is the mp3 functions. While the 1165 is majorly improved mp3 function over the 1110, suppporting about 30 charaters instead of only 11, it doe NOT show directories. The 1165 does, in its defense, scan the entire cd, and list every mp3 on it, it order, per the directory it is in, you just can't manually select the individual directories, thus the 9/10 rating. In summery, if you have/had an AD-1110 this is a good replacement/upgrade. The AD-1165 is fairly impressive thus far, and well worth the $40, just like the AD-1110 was. Note: DVD-R & DVD+R write on NEC ND-2500A using Samsung or Memorex single sided media, using Nero 6. VCD/SVCD on CD-R/RW writen on multiple drives with various software.
