CVD? $30 60 days 7 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DVD-MP3 DivX XviD MPEGISO DVD-MPEGISO Comments: Ok, I dont know what the fuss is. This is a typical Apex player. If you have or have had an Apex in the past, you know what I am talking about. If you have never owned one, well... I've had a few. I keep buying them because i know what they will play. They last about a year and then its time to get another $30.00 player.

CVD? $? 90 days 8 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DivX Comments: Initially I would have given this player a 2 because I tried multiple medium (DVD+-R/RW, Sony, TDK, NexxTech, Verbatim, Phillips, etc.) and nothing worked except store bought or some TDK discs. But, I had burned all of these medium using Nero 6.x & 7.x. However, I decided to test burn some movies with Roxio 7.5 and to my surprise, every media I burned with Roxio worked without a glitch. So, I up my rating to an 8. I havn't tried a MP3-DVD or a WMA disc yet, but am planning on trying this soon. Good buy for $23 at your local Wal-Mart.

CVD? $40 2 days 1 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DVD-MP3 MP3 long filename MP3 ID3 TAG DivX XviD Comments: I am a firm believer in DVD players capable of playing all kinds of formats including MPEG4 (DivX/XviD). Well, this machine is not one of them. It seems to be a newcomer at Wallyworld but unless someone comes up with some firmware hacking method to make it smarter, I pass. I don't know about a max bitrate but MP3 files can only have 44.5 kHz sampling rate. Another thing. The file management system is rather poor. One does not get a navigable directory tree. The unit scans for "readable files" and you only get a long list of files no matter where they are. A really basic unit.
