This is really not for the Amitech 705, but for the Amitech HDD/DVD.
I have entered that model in the New player, so it may eventually show up.
If you have an Amitech HDD/DVD and want it region free, do the following:
1. Turn on Amitech HDD/DVD recorder.
2. Push OPEN/CLOSE on the remote control. DVD drawer is open.
3. Push SOURCE button on the remote several times until the top of the screen reads: DV Controller.
4. Push 7 7 0 on the remote. The screen should read "Region free" at the bottom
5. Turn off the Amitech HDD/DVD on the remote control.
Next time you turn on the recorder you can enjoy DVD's from any region
Have fun

Quite good player for the money, plays whatever You feed it with. However one thing is important, it plays XviD's with packed bitstreams very "jerky" if You don't unpack with:
http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=MPEG4_Modifier
...then it works perfect....guess that's mandatory for all players with MediaTek chipset, like Pioneer 380/585 etc. |

Supports *.srt subtitles
Support multiple avi files
with subtitles on a single Dvd,
just name the avi and srt the same
Not shure if it's the Mediatek 1389
chipset BUT i know it's a Mediatek chipset
in the player.
The subtitle is a bit smal and Yellow (sigh)
on a 32 inch widescreen crt Tv |

Pretty good deal for what you pay in Swedish market, among the lowest end player (least I have seen is for USD 45)
Only glitch is, it doesn't memorise previous runs before power switch offs, so if you have stopped watching DVD/XviD at some point, it doesn't remember that and you have to scroll to that place again which is pain. It doesn't memorise sound level.
Worst is, user guide is in danish and player languages are english, dutch and french. I have NO idea what the company must have thought while making the manual!! |
