N/A 5 of 10 Comments: Bought this 'Cheap' player from Argos. I do a lot of home SVCD and DVD creation. This player can not read my home DVD productions and will sometimes have problems with my SVCD's. (Blocky). I have tried other disc media and have the same problems (my creations work on other players). It does however play every 'shop' DVD fine and I have applied the region hack and played other region discs OK as well. I guess you get what you pay for here. A basic DVD player.

Plays VCD v2 but other vcd's that I know work on other players dont work. Maybe not backward compatibile. JPG's are fine, but after a while, the pictures mess up and dont display properly. I got to switch it off, give it a rest before starting again. Brill at MP3 Picture quality is okay, not crystal sharp superb but if your happy with video quality then this is fine Didnt play my mpegs

CVD? $70 N/A 5 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD Comments: Bought this player yesterday from Argos for £48.75. This is no budget wonder the picture quality with the supplied scart was terrible, as bad as a worn out VHS tape. With a better scart the picture would be quite acceptable bon a budget TV or bedroom portable. Ideal for a child in fact. The build quality of the case is good but the buttons were terrible, really flimsy bits of rounded metal. Don't get this player for use with a decent TV or as an 'all formats' machine. Picture quality on my Sony WEGA wasn't a patch on my 2 year old Tosiba and it doesn't play MiniDVDs (MPEG2 DVD-Video recorded to a CDR/W). I took mine back for the following reasons: It doesn't have an RGB or S-Video enabled scart. It doesn't play miniDVDs (recognises as DVD but no picture at all). N/A 9 of 10 JPG/JPEG Comments: works fine for me so far, brought from argos for £48.00 today, palys svcd and vcd straight from the box no need to use a hack, very slim in design, so far great little player, i will update as and when i try differant media.

CVD? $70 N/A No rating JPG/JPEG Comments: Great little dvd player played everything i have put in it cost £39.00 (HEHEH STAFF DISCOUNT AT ARGOS) aviable at £48.75 to puplic www.argos.co.uk cat number 533/3095. They have been substituting it for the alba dvd114 so make sure you get the 119 its far better looking dont know about features. Converts a ntsc dvd to pal out put so basically an american dvd is in colour on old tvs even if you tv doesnt support ntsc WELL WORTH THE MONEY

N/A 1 of 10 Comments: got it like a week ago,and now its been playing up. wont play any dvds properly,audio popping and skipping,swapped it for another,and another,and another,same problem with all of them. its a chipset fault.cant be fixed.so after 5 of them now,its going back. this player ,while playing everything,is rubbish now,as its obviously faulty.

CVD $90 N/A 10 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-MP3 Comments: for the price-the build quality and features are very good,almost a flawless player for the money,the only thing against it is its width. its a slimline player,but a bit wide. the remote control is a dansai 1010 hybrid,and the menu is almost the same too. macrovison free and region free in 4 seconds,lol. and it shows you the info in the corner of the screen,when entering the hack. bought it this morning in Argos(uk),for £48. a hellofalot better than the pacific 1002 that i had ,as a bedroom player.this machine is very quiet and smooth in operation. highly recommended.

It's a great value DVD player with loads of features, plays VCD/SVCD/DVD/MP3CD/JPG CD from CD/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD/DVD+R. DVD Region hack workes perfect, it offers a choice of either PAL, NTSC or Auto output, so you can watch NTSC DVD's on a PAL TV. Highly Reccomended!

N/A 8 of 10 Comments: Bought from Argos for £48.75 on 24/05/03. Plays all that I have VCD 1, VCD2, MP3, DVD-R, DVD+R. It looks good as well, being ultra-slim. The region code hack from this site works OK.

N/A 8 of 10 miniDVD/cDVD Comments: surprised by this player- played all that plays in my cyberhome 528 except for kwag template vcd (wish i could remember exact settings)mini dvd is fine - svcd is EXCELLENT - one nero slide show fails to work - can access the menu but cannot proceed to the actual slides - but i can do the slideshow in mini-dvd format with ulead - overall im impressed with this lo-lo-budget player - stereo audio output is fine - co-ax 5:1 output not able to test as yet- feckin bargain for a present etc

Got this from Argos in the UK for £49 - Bargain - seems to play everything I throw at it, especially happy since finding the remote multi-region hack. Anyone got any more info / experience with this player? Especially SVCD?
