CVD? $? N/A 9 of 10 Comments: Bought it mainly for the car but it gets very regular use in the house too. I tried it with all the CD-R's I could find including the black ones, played them all faultlessly as VCD's. Played those that I did at higher bit rates, then I bought a DVD burner. Plays all the DVD-R's that I've tried although haven't had much success with DVD-RW but at least -R's ar cheap now anyway. Have tried Princo, Bulkpaq Gen3, Datasafe Ritek G04's all without fuss. It sometimes refuses some commercial DVD's so I have copied a couple to DVD-R and they play much better. :)

Anyway, it's a great Unit and it plays all my XVCD, which I usually encode at 1900 Kbs. Sometimes it says that it can't read a CD, so you have to shut the Unit off a few times until it finally accepts it. This only happens with a few brands of CDs, and specially when they are XVCD. I wish I could get the hack to work on mine. The word "FACTORY" does appear, but it seems to leave that mode about 2 seconds later. Oh well

CVD? $210 N/A 8 of 10 Comments: Just bought this DVD player just last month and had been satisfied with its quality and performance. What is good with this player also is that it is already set for DVD Region 1 and 3 when I bought it. I first thought that I still have to convert it or hack it to use other regions but the salesperson told me that the AIWA service center here in our place (Cebu Province, Philippines) had already done that. I don't know with the other regions if they will also work, but I hope it does. VCD quality is very good, although the Total Bitrate is the same as the standard (1374) but I tweaked my VCDs to 1214 (video) and 160 (audio) which is good enough for me. I use IMATION CD-Rs and it works well and to think it's cheaper than the other brands I know of. As of now, there are no major problems with the player. My kids use it every hour to see VCD cartoons and good to say it's playing very well.

CVD? $199 N/A 10 of 10 Comments: Up until tonight I thought it had no svcd capabilities, but after burning a svcd as a standard vcd I found that it works perfectly, just burn the svcd as a non complaint vcd. Great relief for a nice player.

CVD? $199 N/A 7 of 10 Comments: Nice inexpensive unit with a small size (great portability), and the option to use it on 12volt for the automobile, or 110/220v for home. Works well so far with all color layers of CDR that I've tested it with, which unfortunately is only Silver and Green so far. If I find some gold, blue, and other color discs I will test those as well, but I never much cared for the blue discs anyway. lol

N/A 7 of 10 Comments: Excellent piece of kit! Somtimes rejects a CD-R of mine now and again but feel that is my inexperience of producing VCD's rather than the player not working. Always plays every DVD I have put into it. Can be bought in the UK for £149.00. Very small footprint, and for us professional DJ's that is essential when working is cramped night club conditions. Only phono out on the back
