CVD? $? 1 days 8 of 10 XviD Comments: just purchased one of these players today from Argos to use while doing boring time intensive stuff on my pc to keep me amused and not bored. obviously its only a 7 inch screen but for my use i think the picture is quite reasonable and the subtitles in some of my region 3 DVD's are quite easy to read. I did have to increase the sharpness and brightness for my taste. It can be a bit noisy while loading but once disc starts either playing the DVD or CD it goes quiet so no prob to me. I have posted the region hack i used also thanks to the guy who had already put in on. I have tried regions 1,2,3 and there is an option in setup to either play them in pal format or ntsc, I just left it as the pal option. I put one of my dvd-rw's in to try and didnt realise it had a couple of xvid films on and they played so tried other one and found out it didnt play the audio (AC-3 ACM decompressor) and only played ones if the sound has been mp3 encoded. still a bonus tho as not advertised as a xvid player and vertually all my xvis stuff is mp3 sound.I have not tried divx. For me i think its a brill for the price, yeh you can get lots better screen size and sound quality as tends to be a tad tinny but will try with some pc speakers and better headphones. But for me a pleasent supprise as it plays my xvid films that have been done with mp3 sound so bonus and thats why I give it an 8.
