CVD? $? over 1 year 3 of 10 JPG/JPEG DVD-JPG DivX XviD MPEGISO DVD-RAM Comments: own 3 love the hard drive made over 200 dvd's but it cost $278 to repair after 13 months for 1 machine the other 2 will not burn to disk only 2 hard drive! so i have 2 in the shop and only 1 with a warranty, and the hard drives are full of my wanta tape to dvd.

CVD? $200 7 days 8 of 10 Comments: So far this has been a very solid and easy to use system. I really like the hard drive features such as pausing live TV and being able to review my recording before putting it to a disk. Usage is very intuative and all features work great! My only complaint is that you cant watch one thing and record another, there is no multi-tasking at all with this machine. The unit was marked down at Radio Shack from $350 to $200, I am very happy I scored it with a Hard Drive. From now on I will never get one without.

CVD? $300 30 days 9 of 10 MP3 ID3 TAG Comments: This player is solid. It has so many great features and is cheaper and better built than the ILO at Walmart. Pros: Built in tuner, built in hard drive, One touch recording high speed recording, idiot proof EasyGuider menu system. Pause Live TV, Follow current recording, All-Write Technology, Music and Picture disk capability. 16 slot timer recording (No TVguide or guide plus to cause an issue), Easy editing functions, 1hr,2hr,3hr,4hr,6hr and "to fit" modes, looks and Price. Cons: Can't record one recording while watching another one(stupid seeing as you can record and watch the same recording.) Can only do one thing at a time (ex. can not record from hard drive to dvd and watch tv or other hard drive program.). No SVideo in on front panel, can not dim bright front panel and no hacks at time of review. This player/recorder works extremely well. I have burned 80 dvds so far and no coasters. The DVDs have been compatible with all the players I've tried them with(Panasonic, Toshiba and APEX) The front panel is informative, but the brightness is a tad annoying. Burning a 2 hour program from hd to dvd takes approx. 20mins. The editing functions are limited, but you can split, merge, rename, set/delete chapter mark and hide chapter. The menu system is as idiot proof as it gets, the only function that could make this player easier is if it asked you to finalize the dvd after each time you recorded a program instead of making you go to the tools menu. The picture quality is excellent in 1hr and 2hr mode, 3hr mode is good, I have not recorded in any other mode. Overall, this was an excellent purchase. I have converted a bunch of family videos to dvd with ease. Recording from digital cable or from my pvr is a breeze and the picture quality is excellent.
