The discs burn well for the price. Obviously not MCC or TY quality, but for the price these are great as give-a-ways or not too impt material. The older 8x Staples discs burned better, but these aren't as ugly.

Bought 1 package at the sale price of $7.98.
Burned a few discs, they came out good. They do not
reach 16x. Was only able to get 4x, which is ok
because I only burn at a max of 4x.
Ran the NERO disc scan on one of the burned disc, the
result was what I expected, its an OK disc. Not the best, not even above average, just ok. There are discs out there with many more failures than these.
Its what I would call an everyday disc and at this
price you could burn one everyday. If they work with your system than they are a good deal. For me they are a good deal. I went back and got a second stack.

Media burns well at 12x where most 16x media burns best, with good (not great) PI/PIF errors when scanned in my Lite-on. PIF totals around 800, with no higher than 2. Reads back perfect in all my DVD Drives and players. Not as good as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, but they are inexpensive and work well. The 8x CMC from Staples burn even better, with PIFs around 200. Tested in Lite-on 165P6S, Benq 1655, NEC 3500.

This media is identical to the Memorex 16x dvd-r media, yet neither will burn at all in my 16x memorex burner, even with the latest firmware. Imagine that! It burns with the 8x drive in my dell inspiron, however the second half of the movie skips like mad. I work at Staples, and i bought a whole bunch of these things, yet they are garbage! Most CMC discs tend to be. I am going to take all of these things back. Good luck to all of the dvd pirates that come into our store with their friends and buy cartloads, they'll never figure out why these don't work. HAHAHAHAHA! Good luck getting these things to work correctly. The Staples 16x +R's are'nt quite as bad, but still not worth the trouble. These were 7.94 on sale. The Memorex (same discs) go for 14.94 when they are on sale. Both prices are a ripoff for discs that don't perform. Better luck next time.

At this time, few writers have firmware that can handle the CMC 16X +/-R discs. Most Nero CD-DVD Speed test results confirm that all brands of writers are having trouble making good burns...at any speed. What made these attractive, was Staples' 20th Anniversary sale price of $7.98 for 50 discs. Unfortunately, most folks probably will end up taking their "Deal" for a refund or exchange for the better performing 8X media.
