Do not buy this media, unless something has changed in the last 1 1/2 years. I purchased 100 about that long ago, today I have none left.
They all burn fine and work OK for a while, then slowly they all go bad.
Most of them I caught on time, and with the help of IsoBuster (great program) was able to copy them to new DVD's. About 20% were so far gone that they were lost... Really frustrating considering the amount of time that went into some of the DVD's, and the cost to redo what never should have to be redone in the first place.
Since that time, I purchase Taiyo-Yuden TYG02, they seem OK so far. Also have gone back to Ritek G04's (4X) which have always been very reliable.
Funny that Ritek would bring such a garbage product out, otherwise they have a good reputation.

Burning at 12x and not a single coaster yet.. My pioneer drives have always proven to be perfect even with the very cheapest discs. Even burning 2 dvd's at once using my older 106 they burn flawlessly. Cant say for longetivity of this media but I have never had issues with ritek before. coasters are normally caused by burners that dont like the media imo. burning at slower speeds wont increase reliability. The disks are rated at 8x so best burn "Should be achieved by burning at 8x" I would definately use this media again.

Very mixed burns at 8x.

Mixed at 2x, mostly good.

Successful burns initially show no errors whoever I experienced major degredation on some discs after a few months, with the discs being kept in good conditions and some rarely used.

Degraded discs no longer load at all with a PS2 or Xbox, and struggle in a PC.

I would not reccommend this media due to the degredation issues I have experienced. Bad burns are one thing, but having a good burn become useless after a short while makes the whole point of burning in the first place redundant.

I recorded more than 10 times with this media, from Maxell (bought some 2 or 3 10 DVD packs). I thought everything was going ok as nothing went wrong using 4x nor 8x and Nero's Verify Compilation always checked ... until I decided to play with Nero's CD-DVD Speed Scandisk. To my surprise, almost half the compilations had damage/bad sectors. I then tryed copying the content back to HDD and those that nero reported bad sectors indeed were not read.

It seams this happens A LOT if you use lower speeds.

*** DO NOT TRUST NERO's VERIFY COMPILATION - IT IS NOT TRUSTY ** just copy the contents back to HD after burning or use a scandisk software.

I can get it to only write at 1X speed no matter what settings I use, I tried both 2X and 4X speeds. I burns OK but takes a whole hour rather than 15 minutes or a half hour. Thus, it's NOT properly recognizing the media and defaulting to 1X speed like it used to to with most media. I suspect a patch would solve it but I haven't found one yet. The new 1034 update solves a problem with the new faster 8X/16X DVD-RAM disks which the drives doesn't support even at the slower standard 5X speed.

I have used this media for a good few hundred disks. Burnt over a period of time, only time I have a coaster (very rare) is when I have done something stupid. They play on all of my players 2 sony (different models,lite-on stand alone recorder, can also record on them using this recorder and 2 portable fergusons) I have used more expensive verbatim disks and found them un-reliable. I have heard people saying that these degrade and become un-playable, I haven't had this, only time one of my disks plays up is because my son has mistreated it and it's scratched. I have even used skip doctor on these damaged disks to repair to make another copy. I have done disks for family and friends, none of them have had problems. Not all media is suitable for certain recorders and sometimes user error has more to do with problematic disks. Printed these look great, and providing you burn them first and print them later (common sense) then they are in my opinion one of the best disks I have used and will continue to use.

Burns at "8x", but takes 11 minutes to complete a whole disc. Maybe my burner is being careful with these??? In saying that, I've burned several without any coasters yet. Don't know how long they will last though.
All in all, I would use these ONLY for movies, etc. All my critical backups and important burns i'll save for MCC and TY.

Burns well and gives a good quality print. This media quickly degrades becoming unreadable in about 6-12 months. This is a Ritek branded media and listed as A-grade. I would expect better from such a big name. Shame that the quality of Ritek has dropped so badly when they used to make good reliable media.

The playback reliability is given for the time shortly following the burn, after 6 months at most it started to faulter.

If there was a longevity reliability option I wold choose poor for it.

All in all in my opinion give this media a miss.

I was skeptic about buying the media, but i need some white inkjet printables similiar to the ritek g04 because of the smooth & fast drying surface. I never had a problem with these disc. I still use other dvd media, but i use the ritek g05 exclusively to backup important data or videos that would be watched frequently. They also burn extremely well with my Sony Dru-710A & Pioneer DVR-110D.
