This gives you a nice sense that it burned well. sucker. if it is a movie it will be full of faults, pauses and artifacts. damn Ritek and their R05s. the only way that i have noticed that you can tell if it was a bad burn is if you look at the bottom of the disk, its not a uniform color, it will have swirls and discoloration Additional information: Burnt with Sony DRU-810A at 4x using firmware 1.0e. I'm not that impressed, no coasters, but they don't seem too great on the longevity. Kind of fragile, and some already have dye rot. Compatibility seems pretty good for the people I have given them out to, but I don't feel I can trust them for any sort of long term storage. Rating 5/10. Picture is flawless only have had one coaster so far. Very anoying as I was expecting quality for the price paid. If I'd have wanted G05s I could've got a 50 pack for the same price as this 25 spindle. Fortunately my burner writes to this media well but they were intended for high value backups I'd like to have for years to come not loose 6 months down the line! ALL Maxell disks, even the ones made by Ritek (one of the better Mfgrs) are made with Azo coatings. I had 2 or 3 bad disks in succession, and since then, have created 18 perfect movies, and counting, on them. No perfect manufactured disks exist. The Media is only one of the variables...What you are doing, and the settings you are using all affect the end result as well. These are very good! I am very confident of success when I use them. I did suspect they might by bad when I bought them due to the price, but I've been pleasently surprised. They do seem to be a new shipment to my local JB so maybe they have improved. By the way, My LG player is the 774, but 784 is the closest one I could pick. With the information supplier in other posts, just spend a bit extra to get better quality DVD-R.!!! Don't take the risk. These Taiwan made discs are brutal, far worse than the Memorex crap I tried two years back. I always look for the Japanese made Maxell's, but they have become more and more difficult to come by. The first disc I burned from this recent purchase had its surface literally disolve. I've never seen anything like that before. I burned several more only to find that neither my pc, dvd player or PS2 would read them properly. I am done with Maxell.
