These disks are the "3rd" formula Matrix disks being sold "right now" at shop4tech. The 1st and 2nd formula disks have a VERY SIMILAR media id, but the difference is those first generation disks have the name "long..ten" in the ID.

There is much more then a name difference between the long..ten and these disks. For starters, these disks WILL actually burn @4x as advertised. The Long..Ten disks will NOT burn @4x on MANY burners. The most important difference, however, is that these disks WILL burn sucessfully MOST of the time, while the "long..tens" have an extremely high failure rate, and even the long..tens which are burned sucessfully, often times have all sorts of issues.

The first two formula's weren't worth getting free because they were completely worthless..but these 3rd formula disks are FINALLY worth purchasing and certainly worth the price.

Note: IF you have the SONY DRU-500A OR AX ..make sure it is set to MASTER and DMA is enabled to assure 4x burn speeds. If you have the DRU-510A you should be able to burn @4x under any circumstances, with ANY burning program.
