Very inexpensive (15 for $15 USD) but very unrelable media. At first, my Lite-on LDW-411S would not even be able to write this media; it would start to write the lead in, but lock up. I then upgraded the firmware, and it worked, but it would only burn at 1x. Just a couple days ago even newer firmware came out, and now they will burn at 2x. But the same problems occur - some DVD-R's burn better than others in this 15 pack but they're all unreliable regardless. One movie has random skipping/pixelation every now and then, and another just flat out stopped playing at the beginning of a chapter (tried to get past a frame and eventually gave up). Some players handle the discs better than others, but I've seen no perfect playback with these yet. I've played it on the Sony PlayStation2 and XBox game consoles, as well as Samsung, Apex and Toshiba DVD players. PC playback is bad, too.

Stay away from CompUSA (Princo) DVD-R's unless you want to get ripped off. I doubt their DVD+R's are any better. Memorex 4x DVD-R (Prodisc) and +R (Ritek) are excellent. I've played the Memorex DVD-R's on the above mentioned DVD players with no problems whatsoever.

Somehow the combination of Nero 5.5 and my Sony DW-U10 loves Princo products. I even some problems with Ritek G03 or G04, but never with Princo 1X using this combination. All the DVD Standalone that I listed play the Princos or CompUSA/Princo that I burned with that combination. Ritek is good, but I got problem play on the Sampo-611. Never understand why?!!

I had slight skipping problems and picture quality issues when playing it on my Apex 1500 but it played perfectly on my Toshiba SD1800 and two of my laptop DVD players. Just remember, you get what you pay for in terms of media. I didn't get any coasters with COMPUSA media but I'll find subtle problems when playing through the DVD's as mentioned above. Don't be fooled just because the movie backup plays in your DVD player, you have to go through each of the menu items and play it for a few seconds. This is what I did when I came up with these subtle errors. Is it worth the cheap price to do these checks after burning? NO! I'm going to return these to COMPUSA and pay the 15% restocking fee.

Burned 150+ DVD's so far and only 1 coaster... This media is great. I have not had any problems at all. So far I have been burning at 1x but will try 2x soon. Only concern I have is media's reliability over time. Other media companies are advertising 100 year quality for their media so I am not sure about this one.

These work great on my APEX ADV 3800 and Daewoo 5000N. I heard bad things about the Princo-made COMP USA media but so far have had nothing but success with them. They play with no problems and no skipping. I just saw them on Sunday at CompUSA for 19.99 for the 25 pk spindle. I will be picking more up at this price real soon!! Burns at 2x on my Pioneer 105 and at 2x on my GMA 4020B.

I don't understand why everyone has such raved reviews about these discs. I have not had the same luck as the bunch. The discs burn fine on my drive and will even verify fine. But any attempts to play them back after using powerdvd just gives me spurts of video followed by a disc read crc / clean disc error.

The discs do not work in my xbox nor my ps2 either.

However, they do work fine in my friends dvd player (every disc I tried was perfect) but for me it's been no go.

At first I tried to avoid picking up Princo made DVD-R discs. After exchanging Optodisc made DVD-R discs twice at CompUSA, I decided to give Princo made discs a chance, and they worked much better than Optodisc made discs. Not sure how these discs will hold in the long run, but they played quite well right after they were burned and no skipping and pixilation like half of my Optodisc made discs. I may give Princo discs more favorable consideration if the price is right.
