	The old crack for PET7402/PET721 and the PD7012 works for 3850 1. Power ON the DVD player with no disc inside 2. Goto SETUP and go to Preferences 3. With preferences highlighted, Press NEXT CHAPTER>\|, PREVIOUS CHAPTER \|<, NEXT CHAPTER>\|, PREVIOUS CHAPTER \|< 4. The OSD will show the current Region Code 5. Press the Navigation Up or Navigation Down buttons to select your desired region, or 0 for region free 6. Press OK to confirm your region selection Note: I don´t know how many times you can switch regions. Hopefully there is no limit. Enjoy

	My DVD player is type DVP3850/12 and region code 2. The remote control doesn't have numberkeys at all. I don't succeed in modifying the region code in following the process you described. When I get into Setup, then Preference I have 9 underlevels acessible: -> audio -> subtitle -> disc menu -> parental control -> PBC -> password -> DivX subtitle -> version info -> default In "version info" I can read "region code 2" without any possibility to change it. In "audio" I can only select a language word (english, french, danish....) or OTHER. If I select "other language" it asks me "Language Code" but I cannot enter any thing as I have no numberkeys or letterkeys on the remote control, even if on the back of the instructions manual there is a list of language codes with numbers. If I let it free I still cannot read DVD other than area 2. If I go into Setup and then into General among the 6 underlevels there's LANGUAGE OSD in 2nd position. But there I can only select a european language among a define list of words. Any help to change to region code 0 is welcome and I'll be very grateful! :) Thanks by advance.

	This is for the people that the other hack mention on this forum was not working. It seems to be related to a different firmware on the unit. My firmware version is 12.11.20.09 With the tray empty go to Setup, highlight preferences and press the following sequence Next chapter - Previous chapter Next chapter - Previous chapter Next chapter - Next chapter - Previous chapter The screen will change to let you seöect the code. Use the remote to go to Region code 0 Press ok Done
