 Region code hack posted by africanmarty, March 21 2010:Region FREE hack for the Toshiba 22DV615Y LCD TV/DVD Combo: Doing the following the unit will play any Region (all) DVDs: The Update Disc asks you to follow the instructions strictly. The first instruction is to test the DVD player with a Region 4 DVD before you use the Update DISC. However DON'T Instead use a Region 'ALL' DVD. Simply put a region all disk into the unit and play the movie or episode on the disk for a few seconds eject the disk using the 'power/standby' button on the side of the TV ( not on the remote ). Turn on the unit using the 'power/standby' button on the side of the TV (not on the remote). Press eject to make sure there is no DVD in the drive ( there shouldn't as you took it out earlier ) insert the firmware upgrade disk that came with the TV. The TV will show loading, wait 10-20 seconds A message will appear 'firmware upgrade' During the firmware upgrade the disk will automatically eject during the update process remove the firmware disk DO NOT TURN OFF THE UNIT When the firmware upgrade is complete the unit will power off and on again When the unit powers on again press the tv/dvd button on the top of the remote (this will switch the TV into TV mode) Press setup button on the remote and navigate to setup, press enter Now navigate to reset, press enter The unit will reset the factory settings Turn on the unit by pressing the power/stand by on the left side of the unit Firmware upgrade is now complete and the unit will play all region DVD’s :) PS: you will have to re-scan all your channels again to get them back, but it’s worth it. | ||||
