	I didnt make this discovery...just posting.. To convert this player to Multi-Region 1. Press the Program button on your remote control 2. Press the Right Cursor button on your remote control 3. Press the Right Cursor button on your remote control 4. Press the Enter button on your remote control 5. Press the Play button on your remote control

	The remote control technique listed did not work for me, but the CDR method did. (i started with a zone 4 dvd) find and download the file: spookytooth-sanyo1500crack.zip (e.g. from www.filemirrors.com) Follow the instructions, writing the three files, and burning the CDR or CDRW. Put the CD in your Sanyo 1500A DVD player. The machine will appear to turn off strangely, don't panic. Soon the disc will eject. Remove it. Turn on the machine. You'll see the logo, then you'll know you haven't broken the family dvd player. Play dvds from anywhere. Easy :-)

	This is just a confirmation, to those doubting the validity of the Spookytooth crack - it worked fine on my Sanyo 1500A. Tested with R1 and R4 (was originally R4 only). I found the file a bit hard to track down so I have put a copy on my web space at: http://chuq.net/files/spookytooth-sanyo1500crack.zip Remember, it worked fine for me but no guarantees/warranty/support/etc.

	Just another confirmation here. I had no luck with the remote method but the firmware hack worked beautifully. My almost 3 year old 1500A is now region free! It's always been locked on Region 4. I've tested R3 and R1 DVD's and they all play fine now. I am longer forced to playing my imported DVD's on my PC. Many thanks to Spookytooth. :-)

This hack also works on the sanyo dvd-5100

	Omg spookytooth hack worked like a charm! After I put in the cd with programs on it, the screen went blank and so did the display on my dvd player, and I was thinking "oh my god. I've totally broken it. how stupid was I to put this cd in, the data could have been like, totally a virus or something..." then the cd popped out, tried the dvd from a different region, and it worked! thanks guys, and anyone a bit hesitant, you dont need to be because it totally worked like a dream...
