SAME HACK FOR BD-C5500, BD-C6500 & BD-C6900

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/samsung-bd-c5500/10794

I have successfully followed those instructions and applied
the hack to the Samsung HT-6950W in New Zealand (NZ), region
4 unlocked to region 9.

Instructions, mostly copied and pasted from previously
mentioned article but removed some unnecessary steps

To change the DVD from region 4 (Pacific/Australia) to
region 9 (region free) follow these steps using the remote
control. (Adapted from http://tinyurl.com/2acybpj for
Australian conditions).

1. Ensure that there is no disk in the tray.

2. Switch the player off and then back on. This is necessary
to clean-boot the firmware.

3. Wait until the main menu page appears and the player
stops doing anything.

4. Wait while the player searches for a disk.

5. As soon as the "No Disk" message appears at the top left
corner do the following.

6. Press the REPEAT button – just above the TV channel
selector at the bottom right of the controller.

7. Enter 7 6 8 8 4 on the number pad, with about a 1/2 of a
second between presses.

8. After about 2 seconds (it feels like ages) the region
code "4" should appear at the top left corner of the screen.
It is not very big so is easily missed.

9. Quickly press "9" to make the player region free. I had
to hit the 9 key a few times for it to accept it.

10. The '4' will disappear and about half a second later a
'9' will come up instead.

11. Press the power button to turn it off, and then once
more to turn it back on again (don't unplug)

12. Play a foreign DVD to verify the change.

As mentioned by many other people, this hack is tricky to do
because of the timing of entering the numbers and the
general lack of feedback during the process. Keep trying and
it will eventually work. You will probably think that this
is a hoax until the first time you see that "4" show up in
the top left corner, I know I did!
