	Region code hack posted by jake, October 16 2002: i have had my 505 for 4 years now and never had a problem changing region codes. this must be done when you change region code but belive me its worth it. press menu enter display condition then choose which region 1,2,3,4 or 5 by pressing that number. then enter again. thats its if it doenst work email hhairisi@bigpond.net.au
	Region code hack posted by Pete, April 28 2003: Previously reported hacks for this player via the handset can ONLY be done with this modification in place. Follow this link.... http://www.madcapp.com/4Sale/DV505CS.PDF to download an Adobe document which gives full instructions for modifying this player, depending on the firmware fitted, there is also a macrovision off mod as well. You will need a 25watt soldering iron and a steady hand, the mod is very simple and has worked for me for the last 5 years. I can't remember where I originally got this but I know it works.

	Region code hack posted by alaurap, November 09 2004: - Remove any disc in the tray - Press the Setup on the remote control - Move over to GENERAL using the arrow keys - Select BASIC, press DISPLAY (This will display your region and firmware version). - Press CONDITION/MEMORY (nothing is displayed or changed on the screen). - Press the REGION # required (i.e. 2 for Region 2 etc). - Press MENU to store.
