These hacks work, however if you upgrade to firmware 3.04 (the latest) the hack
is no longer supported.

PostRegion code hack posted by dMouse, October 11 2008:

The unlocking instructions above DO work on 3.04, but you must follow them to the letter. For example, if you do not turn the recorder on from the front panel, it will not work. It will also fail if you have the tray open, as some instructions suggest.

Again, the instructions are:
1. Turn on the player from the front panel with no disc insterted
2. Press HDD List on remote and ensure Hard Disk is highlighted
3. Press PLAY
4. Enter 159 121 212 005 255
5. Press PLAY
6. Turn the player off

You'll know it's working correctly when you don't get a cross in the top right corner every time you press a number.

I can also confirm I can not get this to work since upgrading firmware to 3.04 :(

PostRegion code hack posted by AltoBravo, July 29 2009:

I can confirm that the instructions in comment number 1, by Tientje _did_ work for me against a player loaded with v3.04 of the firmware. (Although I can't remember if I turned the player off again at the end or not, which later instructions suggest you have to do.

Feedback on the other comments is as follows:

1)If you press 'HDD List' as CALPE's instruction #2 suggests, and you have any recordings on your hard drive, you will be shown those recordings, and will be unable to 'ensure that Hard Drive is highlighted'. The only way I was able to highlight the Hard Disk is by pressing 'Home' instead (again, as Tientje instructs)

2) I found the sequence of numbers stated in later posts confusing. I can confirm that you do _not_ need to enter spaces between each group of 3 numbers, although the formatting seems to imply this.

3) Finally, dMouse suggests that you'll know you are doing things correctly "when you don't get a cross in the top right corner every time you press a number".

I _did_ seem to be getting the cross, but continued, concentrating on entering the numbers without hesitation, and the hack did work.

Hope this helps.

I have succesfully hacked my PHILIPS DVDR3570H with the instructions by Tientje, December 04 2007.
All regions working!

I have the latest upgrade 3.06 installed.

Saw that some of you have had problems.
Just follow Tientje´s instructions.
Here are some points that you will have to think about:

1) Ensure no disc is loaded.

2) You need to press "home" as Tientje mentioned.

3) The "Disc tray" should be highlighted among the three choises, NOT the "Harddisc".

4) Then you push the "Play"-button on the remote.

5) Press the numbers in a row. No space inbetween.
If everything is done correctly the numbers will show on the display. (The display runs out of space, but just keep on pressing the numbers)

5) Finish with the "Play"-button.

6) Turn off the DVD-player.

Enjoy!!!!

Firmware upgrades do not effect the region hack.

1. Turn on the player from the front panel (without a disc inserted)
2. Press HDD List on remote and ensure Hard Disk is highlighted
3. Press PLAY
4. Enter 159 121 212 005 255
5. Press PLAY
6. Turn the player off

Tried tested & works 100%

Am reporting that the hack worked only when I followed the following steps - turn on at front of set (no disc), use remote - press home, press play, then enter the numbers very quickly within seconds - (don't look at screen because if you take too long "browser" comes up and it won't work)press play, turn off. Found this advice on another site. Leish
