 Region code hack posted by greedygenius, July 23 2004:SUCCESS I FINALLY HACKED IT NOW ITS REGION FREE!!! Before i explain how i did it i would just like to say that it really pissed me off for about a whole month BUT i stuck to it and WHA-LA After reading the post above by crowtrowbot i wondered if the Phillips DVD 755VR (combo) was actually the same as the Sanyo HVD2XE and IT IS!! So i firstly browsed through this site and used the hack for that DVD player on this one and it didnt exactly work.... I wont bother tell you why so let me just tell you how unlocked my DVD/Video Player to Multi-region THE HACK********************* Because the Philips DVd/VHS is actually a LG 5000 all i did was download the firmware for it from: http://lgregionfree.tripod.com/ NOTE - Download the Firmware for the LG 6000 not 5000 because the firmware for 5000 does not stay in the DVD players memory but the 6000 does. (Dunno WHY???) **What Happens** when you go to download the firmware it shows you pictures of all different LG's and when you see the LG 6000 it looks nothing like the Philips Combo, click on the oicture to start download Save the zip file to your PC create a new empty folder Unzip the zip file to that folder In the folder are 2 items a readme file and another folder. At this point all you have to do is burn that first folder (i think its called RMTM0000) to a normal blank cd using NERO or whatever burning program you got. REMEMBER ONLY HAVE THE ONE FOLDER ON THE DISK NOT THE README FILE. ALSO MAKE SURE THE CD IS CLOSED AND NOT ON MULTISESSION!!! NOW insert that CDR into the Philips dvd/VHS a blue screen will appear asking you to enter region code 0-6 ENTER 0 for multiregional then press Pause to exit End of Story LOL I bought this DVD Player From Argos UK Cat No. 533/2900 179Pounds - Not the best deal but lol If you have any problems i suggest you read the readme file that came in the ZIP file.
