Philips BDP7700	Region code hack posted by bigbrother99, November 11 2012: The hack seems to be exactly the same as the one posted for the DBP5500. However I'm posting it with a little more detail because the 'as posted' 5500 hack didn't work. 1) cold start the player i.e. unplug and replug in the power cord. 2) wake up the empty player from standby 3) press the 'home' button. Note that the player goes to its home screen but press 'home' anyway 4) Enter 1389310 5) No change shows on either the player display or the TV but the player makes a disk movement whirring noise briefly. The player should play other region disks. Mine refused before doing the above and now plays region 1 (my player is not region 1). This was for DVD's - no blu-ray discs were available.
