Sometimes it works with the cover closed too. 1. open cover 2. press Setup 3. press 8888 4. press Next key >>| 5. a new menu item Version will appear 6. Go to that menu item and set the region 7. | Region code hack posted by jet1966, May 17 2004: I recently purchased this dual-system (PAL/NTSC) portable DVD player, but it was only able to play Region 1 DVDs. I requested support from Coby, who provided the following region hack, which worked perfectly for me: 1. Power on the unit 2. Open the door. 3. Enter "98760" using remote, and "0" appears on upper left corner. 4. If don't see "0", then try again (input all the numbers as quickly as you can) 5. The screen will be turned off (it is normal). 6. Turn the unit off and turn back on. Hope this helps someone out. later, jet | ||||
| Region code hack posted by yumagah, May 18 2004: Thanks Jet. I recently got my 707 replaced under warranty, and the new unit would not work with the 8888 hack any more. So I will try this latest hack. I figured a dual format portable player should have a region hack, because overseas travel is exactly why some people will want it. | ||||
