	Region code hack posted by TJF, July 22 2005: 1. Power on. 2. Open the disc tray. 3. Press menu. 4. Highlight the lock icon. 5. Press '0' on the keypad for 1-2 seconds seven times. 6. You will get a message saying "Congratulations! Region Free!". 7. Press OK and enjoy!
	Region code hack posted by Jason Ryan, August 16 2005: Heres a code that works with nearly every LG DVD recorder.Go into the setup menu and cruise down to the picture of a lock. When it is highlighted press 0 (zero) about 7 times, just keep pressing until your tv has a purple background and the words, Region set: do you want region free, hit enter on remote and then its region free , multiregional LG dvd recorder.
	Region code hack posted by daamon, June 23 2006: I followed the instructions laid out by TJF (July 22 2005) and can confirm that they work. NOTE: For the remote I got with my unit (in Australia), there is no "Menu" button - you need to use the "Setup" button. Everything else is the same.
	Region code hack posted by Anti Regional code, July 06 2007: HI I got the LG RH7823W DVD and moved from South Africa to Australia only to find I can not play an DVD's I purchased legally. I followed your steps and my DVD is REGIONAL free. Thanks. Why pay for REGIONAL software if we can help each other. Switch the machine on: Press Menu and keep on pressing Play, after 7 presses the machine starts playing the DVD!
	Region code hack posted by Janexnft, February 16 2008: I followed the codes posted by TJF and Jason Ryan, and they worked perfectly for me. In Australia, use the Setup button, as mentioned by Jason, the actual "menu" button is for something else entirely and won't work. I opened the disc tray as advised by TJF. I got a similar message as Jason - Set to region free? or something like that.
