The converted DV streams are transferred to your PC or Mac via IEEE 1394 (i.Link, FireWire) and stored on your hard drive where they can be manipulated using your favorite photo or video editing applications. This device is ideal for all OHCI and DV-only capture cards for Macintosh or PC.

Intelligent Input/Output
ADVC110's intelligent usability allows for easy setup and connection in any video environment. Front and rear connectors provide analog and DV signal
pass-through and ensure that connecting cables is neat and simple.

Description (from the manufacturer site)
The WinTV-DVB-s and WinTV-Nexus-s are designed for receiving, decoding and displaying Digital Video Broadcasts (DVB) via satellite on a standard Personal Computer. They include a hardware MPEG decoder and a composite video output, so the digital TV program can be displayed both on the PC monitor and an external TV set.

The WinTV-DVB-s and WinTV-Nexus-s can receive Free-to-View channels without the need for any specialised additional equipment (see compatibility below). However, to receive 'subscriber' or 'pay per view' channels, an optional module (Common Interface Module) will be required, together with a decryption card, available, for a fee, from the provider of these channels.
Note: though DVB-s is the transmission specification for satellite pay-TV services in North America, such as Direct-TV, neither the WinTV-Nexus nor the WinTV-DVB cannot receive these broadcasts due to proprietary encryption schemes used.

Professional-Quality Realtime DV CODEC Technology
At the heart of the DVRaptor RT2 is Canopus’s proven proprietary DV CODEC chip providing the industry’s best picture quality with render-free DV output.

Most powerful realtime capabilities in its class

Description (from the manufacturer site)
Not only can you turn your Computer into a regular TV and listen to FM radio in dbx Stereo Sound, but now you can also use it as a Personal Video Recorder! You can record and playback TV programs and video like any ordinary VCR, but with AVerTV Studio, you can do much, much more.

Simply install the card in your PC and you are ready to view, listen and record! With the Personal Video Recorder (PVR) function, you can watch what\'s already been recorded while continuing to record the rest of the movie or game (in both MPEG I/II formats).

Description (from the manufacturer site)
The MPEGator board is based on Array Microsystems' VIDEOFLOW chip set. The chip set is comprised of two chips which carry out the image compression and motion estimation tasks during real time video digitizing thus enabling the design of low cost MPEG1 video compression hardware. Simultaneous and synchronous real time audio compression is performed using an onboard MPEG encoding DSP chip.

MPEGator can capture up to SIF resolution video and stereo audio and compress them to MPEG video or system layer (synchronized video/audio) streams in real time. For Internet applications MPEGator can capture and encode low resolution, low bitrate, low framerate clips (compatible with Net Toob Stream player) to fit various network bandwidth down to 28.8K modems!

Features :

MPEG 1 video, audio, and system layer encoding (IPB frames)
Creates strictly compliant Video CD compatible streams in real time
Real time source video preview during encoding (video inlay)
Selectable rectangular or square pixels video capture resolutions
Captures to AVI format to enable editing of the captured video and audio
Hardware accelerated compression driver for direct MPEG file creation from Windows animation and editing
software (including AVI and Quicktime movies)
Low frame rate, low bitrate MPEG encoding for Internet applications
MPEG files playback through the generic MCI MPEG driver
NTSC/PAL, Composite and S-Video inputs
Plug-and-Play PCI interface
Native Windows 95/98/2000 and Windows NT software
Comes with free SDK to unleash your creativity in customizing MPEGator for special applications

Description (from the manufacturer site)
High-Quality, Low-Bandwidth MPEG-2 Video Compression
Use Canopus\' MVR1000 hardware MPEG-2 encoder to convert your analog video to high-quality digital MPEG-2. MPEG-2 video compression provides high image quality and reduced file size making it perfect for CD, DVD, and Web use. Utilize MVR1000\'s Variable Bit Rate (VBR) compression to further minimize the size of encoded video while maintaining quality.

Deliver on DVD or CD
Create standard DVD-compliant MP@ML MPEG-2 streams with MVR1000, then take the files to the included DVDit! SE application to create menus and interactivity. Once your project is complete, DVDit! SE can write directly to DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R, or CD-RW drives for quick delivery to a client or for filing in your video archive.

On-screen preview and playback
On-screen preview takes the guesswork out of when to start and stop your encoding. High-quality on-screen playback lets you quickly check your encoded files.

3D Y/C pre-filtering
MVR1000\'s 3D Y/C pre-filtering is superior to standard 2D filtering and can provide enhanced image quality and better compression than competing products.

> NTSC and PAL compatible
> Realtime MPEG-2 D1, MPEG-2 half-D1, and MPEG-1 realtime encoding
> High-quality 3D pre-filtering
> MPEG-2 D1, MPEG-2 Half-D1 and MPEG-1
> IPB (MP@ML) and I-frame-only encoding
> Constant Bitrate (CBR) and Variable Bitrate (VBR) encoding
