It works far from well. Every single program I use to watch TV hangs up and exits. I can´t make btwincap driver work properly with it. Best results with winampTV (takes longer to hang). WXP drivers are not tested and definitely not working.

I am using this card [PV - BT878P+ (Rev.9F)] for last 6 months and tested it quite a bit.

It works great with Win 98 SE with the only (bug?) issue I faced:
When you are switching in between the channels in full screen mode, the system gets hunged up, and u r forced to press ctrl + alt + del.

The resolution rendered in 98se is the BEST !

With Win2K and Xp the problem is the low quality resolution.

Else its a best deal for converting u r pc to tv (with remote !) in just less than 50$ :)

My pc configuration is as follows:
98se / win2k - dual
128 MB Ram, Intel i810 motherboard with PIII 550Mhz
40 GB HDD.
I used software bundled with the card.

Under Linux (Fedora Core-3) this card works.
I used program tvtime. (card=37, tuner=2 for bttv)

Indeed under WinXP it works also.
The TV-signals from cable were not very powerful.

I would have given this a much higher rating, but it took a LONG time to figure out how to get this to work right in all settings, and even then it took extra software (Ulead Videostudio 7). Here's what I had to do:

-I used btwincap drivers
-I ran the line in through my ON-BOARD (would not capture in sound card) MIC jack (would not work in line-in).
-the preview screen DOES NOT WORK

So, I cannot SEE nor HEAR while I am capturing. Fortunately, when I capture through my camcorder I can see and hear through that, and when I capture through the VCR I can always cut the video when transferring.

To make a long story short, after I complete all of this I get GREAT captures. Audio and video are both EXCELLENT. So if you want to save a few bucks (you can get this for $34) this card will work well, but you will have to work for it!

The 9F card is a nice one.
however, compared to a 3F (very old revision) card quality seems worse (???). I swapped cards on the same machine and the older one is definately w/ better quality.
-
Works with the btwincap drivers, just choose generatl 'prolink play-tv pro' card, and leave tuner to autodetect.
Dscaler also works fine.
-
Overall, cheap card which works OK, and should NEVER, EVER be used with it's bundled (CRAP!) software & drivers.

It worked fine under win98, using the included drivers, but under WinXp never did, despite the updates from the vendor.

Very cheap card that works great! I can capture with 720X480 with descaler, AVIIout with great sync and image.
But dont use the drives that come with the card, they sucks! And use the audio input from your audio card not audio in from the Pixel card, so you can get a perfect sincro.

This card works well for me in New Zealand.
I am able to capture straight to DivX from an aerial connection with the drivers obtained from Prolink's website (http://www.prolink.com.tw/2003/english/download/protv_multimedia.htm).

I am unable to get the card working with the BtWinCap drivers though (http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/installation.html). Whoever has this card installed [PV-BT878P+ (REV.9F)] and working with those drivers should post the settings they used during installation, as it does not autodetect on a number of machines here.

i'm using this card and i'm not happy with the video quality most of all the out of sync audio. i'm using only the drivers and softwares supplied with the card.

maybe i should try using other drivers.

I can capture at 740x480 with MJPEG (pegasus) driver with 0 frames droped! With others codecs works too (like Divx 4.12 in realtime). I use:

- btwincap drivers (sourceforge)
- VirtualDub
- TmpGenc (for VCD/SVCD/DVD quality)
- PowerVCRII (to watch TV)

Note: Win98 is better for capture.

... and many others... Everithing that works with WDM Driver work w/out problems. It´s a full stable board.
--- A7V133 asus board with Athlon 1.2, 512 Mb, TNT2, 20Gb HB (5400 RPM but works fine !!!).

The enclosed software package and drivers are terrible. But fortunatelly, this card support some excellent free software and drivers, and it´s hardware is excellent. I recommend the btwincap.sourceforge.net drivers, DScaler for watching TV, Radiator for radio Listening, VirtualDub for capture and Girder for Remote Control (You can use the card remote to control everything using this, like Winamp, Media Player, etc). This card also supports closed caption, but no SAP or Stereo support (aldo there´s a version that does). Good capture performance even at 640x480 29.97 fps, no frames lost with my 950 Mhz Duron and 40 Gb 500 RPM Maxtor HD, using PicVideo or Huffyuv codecs.

use it on a win2k with 40GBHDD, 384MB RAM. Capture works well using RGB24 format but with anything else I've experienced audio sync using PCM 44khz 16bit stereo. I've tried this with Pinnacle and Premiere but it has sync problems with this card.

I was looking for TV on my PC. Now I do VHS/Hi8 - (S)VCD as a hobby in my spare time. It works superb. Very good quality with hufyuv. I have captured TV size (704 x 480), R.T. 0 dropped frames with picvideo mjpeg lossless codec, on a P4/1.6GHz with UltraATA HD. Didn´t like the enclosed software and drivers. I use DScaler to watch TV and the open source drivers+util to capture, VirtualDub is the best for video editing. It looses the DirecTV signal from time to time though. The best price/performance.

Quite happy with it , captures raw 342*288 no frames dropped , I've got only one hard disk so it tops out at 17 mB/sec which is not enough but a raid setup would work fine , it captured in to memory with no dropped frames at 720*576 raw (RGB)so its my hardisk at fault ,the picture quality is very good ,the tuner software is so so , i am still looking for a working codec for realtime capture otherwise I certainly got what I paid for .I recommend trying some of the generic drivers they seem to work better.

Very good an unexpensive card that may be used for good resolution and frame rates capture and to watch TV and listen FM. Uses the CPU very extensively in compression.
