I have found a hardware compression card for a long time with effortable price for my hobby. Finally, I found Mix Totaldvd from the recommendation of the salesman of DV card shop. Advantage : 1. It is the cheapest real hardware compression card with IEE 1394 input. 2. The compression is 1:1 both on DVD and VCD 3. Quality is good on DVD, even I find it have filter out some noise if the video is under exposure. Very close video quality as direct play from DV tape. 4. Support video out for your colour adjustment on real TV instead of monitor. Disadvantage : 1. The band name seem not popular. 2. The key compression software DV winplus was not good compatible on my Sony dv cam. Finally , I solve the problem by upgrade the software from internet download. 3. Only compatible with some unlead software via a software plugin 4. Cannot direct compression from avi file in computer. Overall : I think it is good choice compression card as a "hobby" type productivity based on its price and good compression quality.
