Great card for gaming. BUT the only problem i can find is that you cannot use 2 displays and capture video at the same time.

Generally a good card, initially I bought it for the gaming performance boost and was extremely impressed although it seems that overclocking it (as guaranteed by the manufacturers) does make it a lot more unstable. I prefer to run it at normal speed since it is quite a good performer anyway. Overclocking doesn't really seem to make that much difference anyway.

Onto the VIVO, which yes indeed does mean Video-In, Video-Out. I was flabbergasted by the card's potential but it does have some pretty annoying flaws. If you "don't" use Gainward's drivers, (i.e. If you use nVidia's Detonators) the WDM Capture Device will ALWAYS fail to start on booting into XP Pro. Naturally this renders the VIVO part near enough useless to avid gamers that always need the latest drivers. However for someone like me, occasional gamer come DVD, video ripper I need it to work and Gainward's drivers seemed to work adequately enough. You do indeed need the latest and greatest WDM drivers from nVidia for the VIVO to even recognize in the system (naturally).

A lot of people mention that there are problems with the WDM drivers and VirtualDub, I have found only one way around the issue of the drivers not initialising when you go into Capture Mode in VDub. That was by using Ulead's DVD Movie Factory to actually set the drivers up before going into VDub's capture mode. This allows you to set PAL_I encoding and Composite inputs and intialises the card for use in VDub. Yes it's annoying but considering you can capture straight to other formats than WinProducer allows, it's worth the 30 seconds it takes to do.

TO THE GUY WITH 80% OF THE VIDEO, THE DRIVERS DEFAULT TO NTSC_M, I PRESUME YOU'RE IN A PAL COUNTRY SO YOU MUST SET THE CARD TO USE PAL.

Overall it's a good gamers card but an even greater capture card, allowing full 720x576 encoding without it introducing the dreaded interlacing lines we all hate so much (only from a good source!). I've recorded a number of films from TV in VirtualDub using MJPEG @ 20 and Audio at CD Quality WAV formats. My record loss was 35 frames over a 120 minute film. The lowest was 9 frames, again over a 2 hour film. A great card with great potential but some annoyingly serious flaws with drivers.

Well I have had the same problems as you guys! Wincoder and even WinDVR cuts the bottom 20% off of the capture video!

But I did look around for software! VirtualVCR works really well! It Captures in AVI only but it works full video!

Bought a Gainward ti4200 XP650 vivo golden sample.

I had some problems with video in (white bar), I read one of the forums (thanks)change driver to 1.08 fixed problems. Same comments about wincoder, winproducer, windvd as others, it was free(came with card) so value is good. Had a lot of lock-ups (just winproducer), then installed windows XP SP1, and it seams to work better now.

I did find that if I just set wincoder to VCD record that nero burns just fine, so can skip using WinProducer, unless I need to edit.

I loved this card, until i tried video capture.
it would not capture the bottom 20% of the images, no matter which resolution i selected.
the actual quality of the top 80% was superb though.

I have seen reviews of simmilar cards that have the same problem
http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/gf4/gf4ti4200-4.html#p3

I am guessing it must be a problem with XP and the capture drivers 1.11, 1.12 and 1.22. I will live with it for now

It is not only VideoIn - ViVo=VideonIn/VideoOut.
The software included (Intervideo Wincoder) isn't premium choice. Experienced incompatibilty with my Creative Audigy soundcard. Sound was not recorded because WinCoder didn't detect my LineIn or What U Hear input.
Ulead's VideoStudio does the job quite well.
Apart from the software an excellent card, and concerning the quality of the recordings much better than Hauppauge cards.

I purchased this card for two reasons.

1) I wanted a gaming capable card
2) I wanted to be able to capture video on my vid card instead of another add-in card.

I am very impressed with the gaming quality of this card. I am having some difficulty with the video capture portion though. As mentioned in the other post the software that comes with the card is ok but not the greatest if you are looking to do some really video capture you plan on keeping.

Also something to keep in mind is that this device uses WDM drivers so you may or may not have issues with VFW applications (i.e. VirtualDub, AVI_IO to mention a few). So I am still on a quest to find that application that can use WDM drivers and use them well. That is why I gave this card a 9 but if you can find the right software this card is definately a 10.

Excellent card. Has a quality feeling to it, and the setup was a cinch. The capture looks great and the VIVO setup is quite nice. Your best bet for this card is to go with some of the other software available for capture and encoding, as the WinProducer and Wincoder software that comes with the card is outdated and there are no downloads/updates available from InterVideo. The gaming features are also top-notch, if you have the money, go for it.

This card is great. Not only do you get one of the fastest video cards available but you also get video capture abilities.

I haven't seen a stand alone capture card that can do any better than this one. I have very few dropped frames (1 per 1000 maybe) if any drops and the sound is always in sync.

This card is hard to find as its not a big name in North America as it is elsewhere. But they are cheaper than competitors and just as good and like this feature give you just a little more for your money.

I sent some samples to a friend who is very picky and his response to them was, "WOW, those are excellent quality even as double size". Thats the first time he didn't have a criticism. :)

I highly recommend it.

I Just Bought This Card Recently And It Sure Was Worth The Money...Besides Featuring The impressive NVIDIA's highest performing 256-bit GeForce4 Titanium Chipset, it's PowerPack which includes "VIVO" (Video-In, Video-Out) makes your gaming experience and capturing a totally in a different stage, i captured this foreign VHS movie i had and came out with fabolous results..using 720x576 and i had my choice of outputing into all the standard format...using WinProducer or WinCoder(provided in the package) to output to VCD,SVCD,AVI(DiVX). For $258 dollars, i personally think this card is worth the money and its awesome features will impress you :)
