Purchased direct from Aviosys. Arrived on time and installed but doesnt work on my system: Windows XP pro. AMD 2800+ Gigabyte K7 pro board. 1500mb ram ATi 9200 video card. The capture card is recognised by windows and software installs ok AND although I can control the DV source using the supplied software and can view the video using the the supplied software I cannot capture video. Have tried fresh install of Windows, Bareboard install with just the AGP video card and the Aviosys board installed. Have tried capturing direct from DV source...Panasonic MX500 camcorder. Have tried capturing from S video source. None of the above work. When I try to capture video it produces a 0kb video file or no file is produced. There is a "file split" option with the supplied capture software and I have tried this. When selected it produces a 0kb video file and a normal audio file. At this point I'm waiting on a reply from Aviosys. Any comments Comments posted by Greg from United Kingdom, February 17, 2004: Compatibility: Win95? Win98? Win2K? WinXP Vista? NT4? MAC? OK so I needed a capture card to encode to mpeg2. These mpeg2 files I would encode are commercials for TV. I tried this product in windows 2000 pro. It worked for about 10 minutes but even then it had sync problems. It never worked again. It had a good idead about it. The simple capture program was perfect for doing what I wanted, but how good can it be if the card dies on you in the first day never to work again?. Anyway I got my money back, but I wanted a replacement first. There was no replacement in stock and they needed to reorder. I was very unhappy with this board failing on me. The support was in another time zone so they could only get back with you the next day. They had this chat room support thing going on to. But waiting was a drag. Like I said I am dissapointed that this board failed on me. It seamed to have just what we were looking for. Better luck next time around Aviosys... Excellent hardware. Minimal software. Excellent low price. Quick 3 day overseas delivery. Hardware produces excellent captures using Aviosys drivers and software. Aviosys MPEG capture options are excellent. Supplied Ulead software lacks good compatibility. Currently testing other software with limited results. Will report in future on software compatibility. Directx 8.1 or 9 required. Video board must be directx 8 compatible. (I use a GForce4 TI4200) Remaining system: Athlon xp Via chipset kt133a Aviosys capture board has it own IRQ Windows ME Comments posted by mike baker from Other, April 14, 2003: Compatibility: Win95?
