Well, they say you get what you pay for, And you get way more than you pay with this PCI card. This is by far the best TV tuner I have ever had. The software included is incrediable, You get Cyberlink VCR 2, Power Director 2.0,Media Show 2.0,and ASUS's own DVD decoder that rivals the latest version of Power DVD from Cyberlink. All this included with it, thats well over $100.00 in software included for free.
I've heard people complain that there is no internal audio connection. I personally don't mind this because the internals of my case are cluttered enough. I don't mind connecting to the input of my sound card on the outside.
The build quality of the TV tuner card itself is excelant. The picture it produces is only dependable on the source of the video you have. You don't have to worry about the card itself not having enough filter power and blurring the signal. I'm impressed by how little CPU power this takes away from the computer while doing other things.
I can do a Virus scan while its on, and you never no that the scan is actually going on while watching your favorite show or sports. I can type up projects and watch what I recorded earlier while away at work at the same time.
I'd recommend this card to anyone thinking of trying to make their PC a little more useful in and outside the living room. Or to give a second life to your older PC you replaced, as an substitute to buying a TIVO or DVD recorder for the entertainment center.
If you go with the cheeper ATI and Avermedia card, your going to end up getting more software for it, and this one already comes with what you want. I also have no use for the internal FM radio option some other brands offer. Why get an internal FM tuner on a card that takes away visual quality of the card itself, thats no more powerful than a walkman in reception power? I'm more a fan of Internet radio any way. It's a cleaner siganl and you get a lot more variety on the web. And radio is for those who don't want any visual distractions while working anyway.
Now the decission to buy this tuner card is dependant on how much your willing to spend, the CPU power of your PC, and what you want in features. I feel this card from ASUS has all the features and software anyone needs for their needs now and in the future. And software should be the biggest factor when deciding what PCI tuner card to buy. And if you review what other users have said about ATI, Avermedia,WinTV, and Pinnicle, you'll see that they all complain about the software included with it. And how they went out and bought or downloaded anouther version for their card. For your money, you wont go wrong with this card if you decide to go with it.

The best stand alone PCI TV card I have ever tried. The first one that makes me as happy as my VisionTek Xtasy Everything Personal Cinema which I only gave up because it was a GF2.

This works great only had one problem. Everytime I shut off the included Power VCRII app, it automatically muted the line in on the C-Media volume mixer. So the next time I opened Power VCRII I would have to open the volume mixer and unclick mute for line in. VERY ANNOYING!

I downloaded ASUS DVCR 2.352 from ASUS website and it works fine. I dont know why they don't include that on the tv tuner disk, it comes with the 8460 Ti4600 vid cards. I am using that instead of Power VCRII. The only complaint is that the little volume slider control on the application control panel controls the mono slider on my C-Media volume mixer regardless if I set it for mono or line in.

After driver setup in device manager you will see 3 entries,
ASUS TV880 Tuner
ASUS TV880 Video Capture
and AVER Crossbar (or something like that)
click on the Aver crossbar and choose to manually install driver from the list and you will see the ASUS TV880 Crossbar in the list. Choose that and now you will be all ASUS! Windows XP update will want you to change it back, I wouldn't. I assume ASUS took the 3rd party driver and branded it and they made have made tweaks as well.
